Theme Music is now mandatory

The dank passageway turns quickly from stone to steel, and the built-in glowing lanterns have turned to primitive steampunk light bulbs. The corridor branches out, and the strangest sight thus far reveals itself: factories and machinery as far as the eye can see. Buckets of iron pipes and stone tools can be seen near the entrance, and light bulbs are present throughout the space that can be seen, though none are lit up... just as well, since this place must be ancient.

A small, fenced courtyard occupies the area around this entrance, and beyond the massive gate arch, it's factories for hundreds of yards.

Collecting his Barreldude and puzzling at how such a pokemon comes to exist, Merchant decides to continue his exploration, looking for possible new rooms branching off from the factory along with whatever loot might be nearby.

Merchant proceeds through a large, open garage door at the back of the factory, which leads to some kind of back room thing. The furniture suggests some kind of primitive office, with desks and mirrors adorning the corners and walls. Tools are scattered, but only small ones, hammers and wrenches and such made of stone.

Merchant looks around at the furniture, interested. This was a very useful development. He goes around, opening some of the desk drawers, attempting to find information on what lives here...or perhaps useful items.

In the way of artifacts, Merchant gathers up a modest supply of archaic office utensils. An abacus, some old parchments, a pen and quill, many small things that may be worth a bundle altogether. In the way of actual valuables, there's not much to be had, and no Pokemon seem to be in the area...

Taking the tools, Merchant searches around for anything resembling a map. Such a thing could be greatly useful for investigating the newfound area.

Invading a few rooms leads to a little success: Merchant finds himself in a highly presentable room, with a single long table against the back wall, papers scattered about on it. There's a large wood carving above the table, depicting a few Psychic Pokemon, like Natu and Sigilyph.

Merchant slowly approaches the table, interested in the large carving. He picks up one of the papers, reading its contents.

The incredibly old papers have detailed drawings on them; a bunch of drawings. If anything, they look like old schematics for the machines down here. These are outdated by modern standards, of course, but they describe in detail how most of the conveyor belts and weapon creation riggings are hooked up, and how they work.

The eye of the Sigilyph begins to glow.

Merchant calls out Sneasel.

"Be on your guard."

He pockets the schematics, before investigating the wall.

The eye keeps itself locked on the Sneasel, as if analyzing it. It glows a multitude of bright, luminescent colors for a few seconds, and suddenly fades back to a dull, earthy color.

The wall feels very different as Merchant runs a (presumably gloved and robed) hand over the Sigilyph etched into the wall.
