Theme Music is now mandatory The dank passageway turns quickly from stone to steel, and the built-in glowing lanterns have turned to primitive steampunk light bulbs. The corridor branches out, and the strangest sight thus far reveals itself: factories and machinery as far as the eye can see. Buckets of iron pipes and stone tools can be seen near the entrance, and light bulbs are present throughout the space that can be seen, though none are lit up... just as well, since this place must be ancient. A small, fenced courtyard occupies the area around this entrance, and beyond the massive gate arch, it's factories for hundreds of yards. Edited by BatiroAtrain, Mar 9 2014, 12:02 AM.

Jones tries to figure the symbol on the floor. It looks like something out of a necronomicon... it's not elaborate, but the simple carving just feels like it holds something devious. Just as he feels he's about to get it, however, Jones hears a twang behind him... and turns to find an arrow flying at him! The bow wasn't even loaded when he looked at it! Stefan tries to take cover as the arrow flies through the air. "You're right, there's something wrong here." The autonomous bow and the other, now suspicious weapons, were between them and the door. "Krieger, let's see if we can use that trick Morty taught us!" Krieger charges at the bow, heedless of danger, and rakes down with Shadow Claw. [result]8&8,1d20,0,8&1d20[/result] versus 2. As Krieger strikes the bow, something screams bloody murder and the bow shakes violently. Metal Sound: [result]15&15,1d20,0,15&1d20[/result] AC4 When the noise sounds, the other weapons in the room shake just as horribly... the shortsword, hammer, bow, and the flail in Stefan's bag! The flames dust the bones in the way, but the symbol remains intact, aside from being a little scorched. |

Stefan learns from Jones. The bow wasn't the source, and attacking it wasn't the solution. He checks the clasp on his bag and then hurls it away from him, not wanting to be holding it if the weapons broke free. He orders Krieger to change target and smash into the occult slab. After all, if the smart man was resorting to force, it would seem prudent to assist. The stone breaks apart from the onslaught, and the seal briefly flashes white before round, black-and-white specters shoot out from the cracking seal! The four shapeless specters fly around wildly, and in the blink of an eye they vanish into seemingly nothing... Jones's hammer feels heavier somehow... and alive. A massive eyeball stares at him from below the hilt, and his hands are burning where he's gripping it. Stefan's ditched pack shuffles around, and the shortsword and bow have sprouted similar eyes. |
