The underwater tunnel goes not even twenty feet out before curving sharply downward. The square architecture has evened out, turning into less of a tunnel and more of a pipe. It descends for a long ways, but strangely enough, there are boxes in the walls that hold some kind of glowing matter, providing light in the strange pipe corridor. The path itself is about two meters in diameter, large enough to fit two comfortably, four in a tight space. The heat is still present, but drops in intensity the further down one goes. Jones easily disembarks from the ladder "Welcome to the Pipe Works gentlemen. There are a couple of ways to go from here. You can follow the pipes to the left or the right. No idea where they go. If you follow me down, there's a bottom area with some form of generator I haven't had the courage to mess with. Two doors down there. One that's half-covered in rubble, and another that leads into some kind of technological workshop. Fair warning now Stefan, there's a Conkeldurr down there; some kind of crafts-mon. He didn't seem to mind me being there, so long as I was polite." Jones will continue to descend to the bottom, keeping an eye out for the Butterfree and Beedrill parents. Stefan wipes the dust and grime off his hands as he listens to Jones' summary. While he was interested in the conkeldurr and its workshop, he figured it was best not to disturb it. "Well, I'd prefer heading down one of those tunnels, but I'd be happy to help clear away that rubble first. Lead the way." |

Jones will lead the others down further below. "Before we start moving rocks, I want to see if I can find any shards that may have been buried in the debris my team and I moved yesterday." As he takes the Dowsing Rod out of his pack, he'll gesture idly to the corners of the room that are shouded in darkness. "Kakuna over there, Metapod over there. Don't get too close and the parents should leave you alone." With that slightly ominous statement, he begins to move the Dowsing Rod over the debris piles that his team had created earlier. The rod turns up a grouping of [result]1&1,1d4,0,1&1d4[/result] shards! (Whatever color you want) The baby bugs eye the three explorers. They recognize the guy from before, and return to their drooling and shuffling. |

Jones lets out a small shout of triumph after ten minutes of waving a stick around. Digging into one of the piles, he pulls out a small glistening yellow shard. "Hah! Knew I'd find at least one!" After that he releases his team. "Alright guys, same drill as yesterday. We've got some extra help too, so the work should go faster." As his team begins the process of breaking down the rocks into managable pieces, Jones turns to the other two humans. "I've got a hammer that one of you can use to break up rocks if you want. I'm using this pick." |

Owen carefully followed the other men down, releasing his Vulpix when he reached the bottom. Scratching idly behind the fox's ears, he nodded along with a smile as Jones explained the situation. "I'll stick with you for now; you seem to be quite the professional!" The older gentleman took the proffered hammer, flexing his arm and giving it a couple experimental swings. "I've still got some strength in these old arms, don't be fooled! I'll do what I can." He began tapping away at some of the rocks that looked already partly fractured, breaking them down so the Pokemon could transport them. Meanwhile, at his direction the Vulpix began sniffing around the area, carefully avoiding the bugs, its nose primed to pick up the scent of Owen's granddaughter in case she had passed through or near the area. Once he was more comfortable and familiar with the Pyramid Owen would have Kindle start searching from the entrance, but for now he wanted to stay in a group without inconveniencing his fellow explorers. ------------- Tracker! Stefan joins in in the effort. He releases Keres first, the fiery bat keeping an eye out for aggressive bugs and providing light. Then he releases Krieger and sets the aron to breaking down the largest rocks with his metal claws and rock head. Stefan himself starts clearing away what he can by hand. As they set to the manual labor, he attempts to make conversation. "Owen, was it? What brings you to poke around in dark tunnels?" Spoiler: click to toggle

Jones sets to work with the pick as well, while his team works around the new people. He keeps one eye on the doorway that they're uncovering, just in case the noise they're making attracts something big enough to shift the doors on their own. Perception: [result]11&1:4:4,3d6,2,11&3d6+2[/result] |

Kindle's nose doesn't pick up any familiar scent, but the Vulpix does note some kind of earthy scent, different from the others, wafting from far beyond the rocks. The work goes quickly between the three trainers and their Pokemon, and of course, the rocks concealed an open doorway. This one doesn't appear to have any door on it at all, once the three get a better look; it's merely a passageway illuminated by torchlight. From a quick peer in, the rocky passage looks like it goes right down at a sharp 45-degree angle. |
