I just remembered rules that my fellow in character members have set, or I've learned the hard way: 1. If my dwarven ranger misses more than three times in a row with my bow, i have to use my hammer, otherwise the orc paladin will take and throw it. 2. I am not allowed to leave a orcish warrior alone, or I will get in trouble and put to death because he wants his magic blade back, and that would be stealing. 3. Don't try to intimidate or persuade anyone, I'm just a elven monk that could strangle them with water whips, leave it to the druidic gnome who could use a puff of poison to do a miniscule amount of harm to you intimidate the evil rogue into telling us where to find a criminal. Because that's only logical. Edited by EndrewSwiftwind, Jun 11 2015, 06:01 AM.

Rules I learned from hard experience: 1. I am no longer allowed to make a Lawful Good character without checking the alignments of the rest of my party. 2. I am no longer allowed to swear a code of honour that requires me to defend my companions...even when half of my adventuring party betrays me. 3. If 2 out of 3 other members of the party, including the cleric, betray us to fight with the dragon we are supposed to be slaying, I am no longer allowed to stand fast to allow the battlemind to warn the town "because that's what my character would do." 4. I am no longer allowed to make my hybrid paladin swordmage be able to force all enemies to attack it... and then be impossible to hit without critical hits. 5. I am no longer able to use a teleporting monk to get past all of the traps on all of the hallways. And then disarm them with the control panel at the other end. 6. I am no longer allowed to build a character who is able to regain 1/12th of his health every turn - and is a tank. 7. I am no longer allowed to have characters who know every language in the game. |

No player is ever allowed to posses a Pokémon with volatile bomb ever again. You know who you are. You know what you did. |

I used a Turing program to simulate a player, and since my programming skills aren't the best, It's had a few moments... 1) Leaping into a river to hide is okay. Leaping in and out of the river 4 times when we're under attack is not. 2) Intimidating dragons , though quite awesome when one pictures it, is not a good idea. 3) Running at the monster when you have almost no health left is also not a good idea. 4) You cannot parlay with zombies. |

How in the world did you do that? And how well did it work out? |

I learned how to use Turing in high school. I'm no master at this sort of thing though, so most of the decisions it makes is based around randomization. I also have to fill in the gaps sometimes because the decisions it makes don't have a lot of detail (ex. "I'll attack it!", "I'll try and intimidate it!"). Still, it does it's job, so I'm not complaining.

Sounds like it would do the job better than some players I know... (More predictable too...) |

~I am no longer allowed to prevent the GM from having his fun. ~~This includes any death plots, snark lines, and inside jokes, but does not apply to battle strategies. We can still screw those up as desired. ~~I am also forbidden from attempting to actively derail the party progression in favor of character progression, and also forbidden from saying "try harder" when he fails to stop me. ~I am not allowed to threaten talking skulls or other potentially possessed objects. ~I am not allowed to say '2spooky4me' in regards to the above. Or at all, really. ~I am apparently forbidden from having the GM's "How Nice/How Mean?" macro say anything to me that is nicer than "The GM should be VERY MEAN!" ~~I'm also not allowed to be biased, even though that macro definitely is. On the plus side, however, I am allowed to stand in the middle of severe weather conditions and vacuums, and suffer no ill effects whatsoever. Hopefully as the campaign I'm in progresses, I'll have more of these. |

As a player: 1) I am not allowed to theory craft what the stats of the pokemon we're fighting are. Even when the gm misquotes what happened. 2) I am not allowed to complain about being expected to steal something while playing a rogue. 3) I'm not allowed to leave in a tantrum when the dragon wakes up and flies away in response to me telling the gm I'm taking a shot at the sleeping dragon in my crosshairs. 4) Since over 50% of my trainers are sneaky, at least 1 of them should have stole something by now. 5) I am not allowed to get into debates with the gm over an npc or legal system being "stupid." 6) I am not allowed to say "then the boss gets +1 in every cs" right before the gm reveals that. 7) When an npc with supernatural powers tells us to leave her alone, I should not follow her while half blind to try and apologize for a companion accidentally "stealing" something of hers. 8) I am not allowed to roll above 3 to hit on the first round of combat. Ever. ----- Other players 1) Killing mercenaries for doing their job is not ok. 1a) Especially while they are tied up, unarmed, and answering questions. 1b) The rogue (me) should not be the only one arguing that killing them isn't self defense while they're tied up. 2) You cannot declare you're covering your mouth when passing another plant just because OOC we heard about someone across the island being poisoned by that plant. 3) Running away from the big scary gyarados when your teammates are fighting it is forgivable. Watching them finish it off and not even bothering to check on the 3 teammates bleeding out with only one person up so that you can go back to camp by yourself is not ok.
