Theme Music is now mandatory The city air is a refreshing breather from the dank pyramid... it would do an explorer good to take a break every once in a while. Whether here for business or pleasure, out here's definitely better than in there! With the recent excavation going on, it seems that Professor Elm and his assistants have commandeered half the town in the name of science! The city scientists have set up in the Poke Center, close enough for research, yet far enough away to not be bothered by the inherent dangers of the unknown magical ruins. Merchant easily tracks down the Professor, happy to see him as always. "Back so soon? I hope the machine is working okay!" |

Merchant nods. "Yes, Lead archaeologist is very pleased indeed. It has helped Merchant's exploration and Training." The robed man releases the Bayleef, who happily rubs against his former owner. "Merchant's studies have also brought him into a number of fossils, and he is interested in their revival. Would you happen to know where Merchant might find someone with such expertise?" |

"Ooh, fossil reanimation... that's a tricky one." Seems like he has some prior knowledge about this. "The closest facility dedicated to that is all the way in Kanto, down in Cinnabar... it's a two-day trip by boat, but they'll be able to revive all your fossils en masse! Other than that facility, I'm not sure who else would be able to revive them for you. It's a shame Johto doesn't have a facility dedicated to it, huh?" The professor awkwardly pets his evolved starter. "I guess I could mail them for you, but it would take a lot longer?" |

Merchant shakes his head. "No, no, that is ok. Merchant will make the trip. Thank you for your time. Merchant will bring his findings back if you wish to study any of them later." He thinks carefully before adding on, "However, if the Professor wishes to join Merchant, he is more than welcome to. Seeing a revitalization with your own eyes could be useful." Collecting his Bayleef, Merchant heads to the docks to find the quickest ship to Cinnabar. Edited by Anonyman, Jan 4 2014, 12:41 PM.

"Oh no no, I couldn't! Much too much to do here. If an aide wants to go with you, though, you could take one... as long as they aren't doing anything." Nodding, the Professor waves goodbye, and goes back to his research. It's late in the evening, and on the way to the docks, Merchant passes by the Pokemon Center; if he needed a sidekick, there's bound to be some adventure-hungry trainers lurking there as well. They'd be a more combat-worthy companion than a Professor's aide, after all. The docks are also in sight from the center. A rough, muscular sailor might be nice as well... as far as Merchant is concerned. |

People to travel with are always useful, but there were definate drawbacks. An aide or a adventuring trainer were both dangerous to have though, as the first would know the value of most items, while the latter would potentially poach his catch. No, he needed someone strong but not the smartest. He searches for one of the Sailors looking for a bit of travelling to pair up with for safety's sake. Plus, yknow, he needed a boat anyway. |

Merchant looks all around the docks, and after a bit of info gathering, finds there's only one ship going to Cinnabar within the next few days. It doesn't leave until tomorrow, but still, it's the only one. Finding the ship isn't that hard; it's stark orange with yellow trim. Upon it, the name "Blazing Magikarp" is neatly painted on. Not the greatest sign. Loading up the ship is a man of average strength, but clearly a sailor; the blue-white striped tank top attests to that. He notices Merchant approach, an calls out in an improbably high voice. "Yoo hoo! Looking for a ship to Cinnabar?" Edited by BatiroAtrain, Jan 4 2014, 11:33 PM.

"Yes. Merchant wishes to join. Perhaps as guard. Are you taking on extras?" |

"Oh, absolutely! We'd love another man down below!" He seems pretty excited to have Merchant on board. "We're packed tight as is, but I'm sure we can make room..." Very excited. The sailor climbs up to the ship's deck, and following a wave up to Merchant, quickly goes into the corridor, presumably to alert the people on board. |
