Theme Music is now mandatory The city air is a refreshing breather from the dank pyramid... it would do an explorer good to take a break every once in a while. Whether here for business or pleasure, out here's definitely better than in there! With the recent excavation going on, it seems that Professor Elm and his assistants have commandeered half the town in the name of science! The city scientists have set up in the Poke Center, close enough for research, yet far enough away to not be bothered by the inherent dangers of the unknown magical ruins. Inei arrives at Violet City, and passes the Pokemon Center, and was about to keep walking, if he hadn't seen a remotely familiar person, one he remembered from the Pyramid, through the window. He enters the Center and looks the man up and down more closely. Yes, he had seen the man at the "introduction", but he hadn't talked to him, too eager had he been to plunge into the Pyramid. He waits patiently for the man to finish his trade. After that is done he greets Merchant:"Good day, I seem to remember seeing you at the Pyramid, and I wanted to introduce myself proper to you. My name is Inei, a fellow explorer of the Pyramid, like you." |

Merchant pulls out of piece of paper, scratching through a couple of options. "Merchant will trade any of these for it." Vulpix Cubchoo Diglett Numel Bellsprout Zubat Slugma Paras Heatmor Elekid Swinub Grimer w/shadow punch Rattata Merchant barely looks up at the newcomer, and passes over another sheet of paper to Inei. "Yes yes, Merchant is Merchant. Are you looking to do business?" The sheet of paper looks more like a business ledger than anything else, but it outlines roughly the same thing as Merchant's shop board does. Spoiler: click to toggle

The gentleman takes a look at the paper. "Hmmm... the Vulpix, the Bellsprout, the Slugma... yes, I think they will equal in value to my speedy bird." He's wanting a tall order, it seems. |

"No." Merchant stops the man. "Vulpix is highly rare pokemon, from island of Cinnabar. Bellsprout has a rare flower mutation, very valuable to collectors. Slugma live in hard-to-find places, and act as egg warmers. Show Merchant the bird, and he will consider trading a Vulpix and Sprout if it is of the quality you speak. If not, only one." (Counter-Guile 15) The Gentleman obliges Merchant's request with a hearty chuckle. "I see, and I understand. Go on, have a look." He presents Merchant with a ball containing one of his Doduo, allowing him to scan it with his Doduo Stats "Quite good, I should think. Maybe just the two Fire-types for it?" He's a sly one... probably been doing business for a long time. |

Merchant looks it up and down. He can't deny it, it IS a well bred one. Perfectly built as a mount, with the right nature and ability... "This is good bird. Merchant will take that offer, and in good faith will give you Bellsprout egg as well. Should hatch within a day or two. Merchant is confident this bird will be good for travel." |

"Right, then let's have it!" The exchange is done, and Merchant is a bird richer for it! The Gentleman tips his trilby and walks out of the center, giving Inei a disturbingly familiar glance as he strolls by. |

"Oh...eh yes, I'd be, by this list, interested in the Cyndaquil, the Kabuto and the Archen. I have some money on my person, I can teach certain combat tactics to your Pokemon if you'd be interested in that, and I can also offer a Spinarak for trade."

With the Shuppet being so unsure, Reya continues the chat outside. "It's hard losing someone you care about." She says with a faraway look in her eye. "Sometimes life is cruel, but we have to forge on. Yet it still haunts us..." She pauses in thought for a moment before returning to the ghost. "Now you can head your own way and I will do nothing to stop you, it is after all my fault. Or you could come with me and have some small solace. I can't change the past but the future is yet unwritten." Charm [result]21&6:3:5:5,4d6,2,21&4d6+2[/result] |

Merchant looks incredulously at the man. "Archen, Kabuto, and Cyndaquil. Net cost, 6500 Pyen. Merchant has no interest in Spinarak. At market price, Merchant could get this training for two full teams, easily. Can you offer such a thing?" |
