The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing.

The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level.

Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes?

The Bergmite 'tour guides' keep their focus on the disguised Rocket. When Barnaby finishes up, they plod toward the grunt and push him in the direction of the entrance. "Uh... thank you! Anyone else would have left me to die..."

With the slow tour guides as an escort, they go over the wall and keep toward the entrance. The Grunt pulls out a ball, deploying a fairly rugged-looking Cloyster. "Thank you again!" he shouts, regaining some of the energy he had lost. Mounting the Cloyster in the water, he floats off in escape.

As Jones tries putting the gem in its pincer, the claw locks around Jones's hand, with a twinge of pain. The Krabby gather around a little closer, forming a circle. One Krabby steps forward, putting its tiny claws on the Kingler's arm, and Jones's forearm.

This seems like the start of an arm wrestling match.

Jones panics for the slightest moment, before calming. "Okay, if that's how you want to do this..." He's going to attempt to use his superior flexibility in order to attempt to gain better leverage to augment his somewhat lackluster physical strength, once the Krabby releases his arm. There's no way he can have one of his mon stand in for him, the only one with anything close to arms was Ursula; and the Kingler probably wouldn't accept a stand-in, especially this late in the game so-to-speak. Jones does glance around once to see if Mjolnir is watching, before turning his attention and focus completely on the Kingler.

With the grunt gone, Barnaby dawns his safari jacket and continues into the windswept ice fields, keeping Clopperton close.

Because he just gave half his clothes to some random kid and it was freaking cold on this iceberg.

(Kingler Acro: 5, Athl: 22)

At the beginning, the big boss Kingler is caught off guard by the quick snap of Jones's flexible arm, but quickly evens the keel with sheer strength. The different styles keeps the score about even, but unless Jones figures out an advantage or strategy, this Kingler will out-muscle him sooner or later.

(50) After a while of solitary walking (with Clopperton), Barnaby finds a tall rise in the flat plain. It looks like a very steep hill, hard to climb on foot, but he also hears rushing water coming from the side opposite him. It's a few minute's walk around.

Jones attempts to throw his opponent off-kilter by batting his eyes at the Kingler.

Should his tactic work, Jones will attempt to capitalize on the crustacean's surprise in order to bring the match to a swift end.

The Kingler feels a little meek from the flashing eyes... (Acro 4, Athl 18 w/ 1d6 penalty applied)

Its technique and balance is lacking, allowing Jones a little more edge; this tilts the match in his favor. As the pincer goes down, he feels the claw stiffen in his hand. The Kingler is using Harden to help itself! Jones's lead is slipping...

Barnaby briefly considers walking around, but then realizes he has a walking torch on an island made entirely of ice.

Through a coordination of instructions, marking, and his strange ability to speak to companions, he and Clopperton start to melt a less steep path up the hill to its top. The view from the hill's summit would definitely be of use for exploring the glacier, and its inhabitants. Just gotta hope that rushing water isn't coming from INSIDE the hill, else there might be trouble with his reshaping it...

(Kingler Acro 6, Athl 8) The Kingler's defenses slip, and its claw nearly touches the floor. One last big push will finish it!

The snowy path begins to melt, but quickly reveals a mass of solid rock underneath. It looks like the snow was just a bit of cover. It is a little easier to traverse now, though, and Barnaby is able to climb it should he decide to.

Hmm! A false glacier! This is very intriguing to say the least! Barnaby climbs the hill, taking note of this new discovery.
