The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

Barnaby recalls his swimming buddy and climbs himself onto the OH DEAR LORD THIS ICE IS COLD! First purchase Colonel he is making for his next expedition here is a sweater! Regardless, he climbs onto the low-floating ice and prepares his trusty new ladder to assist his ascent to the main ice flow. If needed, he'll call out some pokemon to stabilize the platform he's on long enough to climb up. |

As Jones crawls through the narrow space, about ten Krabby dart out of his vision from the light... and that's just as he turns it on. There's plenty more Krabby down the road, but they're all scared of him, fleeing as soon as the light hits them. It looks like there's a brief rise in the ground ahead. Barnaby's footing seem solid enough... this mammoth plate seems in no danger of capsizing. Getting on the big plate also causes some nearby Pokemon to shuffle. He woke up some sleeping icicles... two Bergmite stand up and yawn. Edited by BatiroAtrain, May 25 2014, 04:59 PM.

Jones crawls forward towards the rise, taking care not to antagonize the Krabby more than they already are. Acrobatics: [result]21&6:6:5:2,4d6,2,21&4d6+2[/result] Perception: [result]17&1:2:5:6,4d6,3,17&4d6+3[/result] |

Oh dear, not naptime! Barnaby apologizes for his interuption and tries to quietly go around the duo, leaving them to their buisness. If his intrusion makes them relatively upset, he offers to help them back to sleep. |

Jones comes up the rise, into a small area just over four feet tall. There's an air pocket here as well... along with a lot more Krabby, scared out of their wits. There's also a Kingler at the back of this small area, only two meters from Jones. Barnaby's shenanigans don't upset the Bergmite, but as he tries leaving the icicles they slowly shuffle after him. Non-aggressively. |

The Kingler bubbles up a little, but stops. It just watches Jones with a crass look on its face. Jones then notices a small golden crown, right atop one of the Kingler's top head-spikes. The Bergmite stomp around Barnaby. Asked to or not, looks like the icicle beasts were going to follow him anyway. |

Well then! Barnaby and his entourage would head for the deeper parts of the glacial sheet in hopes of finding something interesting. Such as an explanation as to why there's a giant glacial sheet in the middle of a ruins like this! Was it a pokemon? Was it a device? Regardless of either or, it had to have an origin to have lasted this long. |
