The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing.

The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level.

Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes?

The angry Octillery is splashed with spores, and finds itself unable to move!

Initiative

The octopus struggles... (17) and isn't deterred by the paralysis! The yellow goop on its mouth (isn't it usually black?) suddenly bubbles up, and the Octillery shoots a forceful blast of yellow ink at Dustermuch! The goop hardens around his tiny limbs, threatening to halt his movement...

Jones narrows his eyes. This might be something really worth investigating... "Neil, give it a nudge, lets see if we can bring it into the light." Neil's eyes glow with psychic power, as a Confusion blasts at the Cryonagal.

The aquatic Cryogonal quickly spins off the mental assault. Provoked by the attack, it responds by spinning up a current of water around Neil!

The snowflake barely deflects the attack once again, and blasts a cone of cold air at the moon! Icy Wind: [result]3&3,1d20,0,3&1d20[/result] [result]35&6:6,2d8,23,35&2d8+23[/result]

As it attacks more, the Cryogonal illuminates the area around in an eerie blue light. Spooky lighting.

Neil uses the vortex surrounding him in order to deflect the attack away!. "Wow, this thing is *tough*. Try again!" The Lunatone seems to heave a put-upon sigh, but does as asked.

With the whirlpool distracting him, Neil just can't seem to focus... which isn't a problem for Cryogonal. It blasts some solid ice at Neil. Ice Shard: [result]4&4,1d20,0,4&1d20[/result] [result]21&4:1,2d6,16,21&2d6+16[/result] Ice Physical

The tearing of the whirlpool around Neil seems to have done more damage than the ice shard, which barely seems to impact him. "C'mon Neil, I know you've got this! Try another Confusion, I'm sure you'll get him!" Neil struggles gamely on.
