The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing.

The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level.

Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes?

(lol Gideon)

Stunfisk are just as odd as past study suggests.

Stunfisk Biology

Looks like Jones doesn't even need to worry about that, as the ball takes the sleeping Stunfisk easily. (15/Quiet/Static/Full HP)

(Got my characters mixed up again, sorry.)

Jones sighs and shakes his head. Oh well, he now had an electric mon that he could use to explore the depths down here... once he retrieved it from the PC. On with the search! Jones once more moves towards the underside of the sheet of ice, this time keeping a closer eye on where he's stepping.

The water gets noticeably colder... Jones is pretty much out of the downtown sector, and moving through open waters. Anything goes out here...

Two Magikarp dart past Jones's face in the darkness, giving him a spook as their wide eyes cross inches from his goggles.

Along the way, Jones mucks about with his pokeballs, eventually electing to send Archimedes to the PC and keep the Stunfisk with him; naming the beastie "Cousteau".

Jones brings his flashlight into play, trying to see what may have sent the Magikarp running.

Jones can't miss the glowing pair of eyes in the darkness. They look distinctly like the eyes of Cryogonal... but underwater?

(Also after reading up on things, Stunfisk does not have Gilled... good thing this one does!)

Jones frowns, moving closer to see how this thing is managing to survive underwater. He does beckon Neil closer to him however, just in case.

Don't be the Finneon, don't be the Finneon, don't be the Finneon...

Barnaby expects his chat only increased the chance of the Finneon messing with his trap.

The big Cryogonal's eyes glow an eerie cobalt, apparently trying to intimidate Jones. It doesn't attack, though. Maybe it was minding its own business before, but now it's acting a little territorial.

Barnaby pulls the big one from the water... which trashes furiously atop the surface, with many red tentacles. It's a big Octillery, with yellow goop dripping from its mouth!

...

Well. THAT doesn't look like a Seaking.

Barnaby quickly swaps out Rippleweave for another companion, Dustermuch, tossed into the sky. He gets the drop on the Octillery with a Stun Spore strike from above!
