The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

(49) This place is really dark, aside from the light being cast... many unknown bottom-feeders are shifting at the edge of the light, presumably not wanting to be disturbed. Jones gets a weird feeling in his feet. (Perception DC[result]18&4:6:3:3,4d6,2,18&4d6+2[/result]) |

Barnaby frowns. nature was nature, but he didn't care for hazing regardless of the circumstances. Perhaps now would be a good time for that fishing trip. The colonel attempts to "speak" to the finneon and warn them to avoid the sparkles of his lure as he looks around for some place to stand and cast a line from. This pool was about to be one predator short. Spoiler: click to toggle

There doesn't seem to be any good nearby place to cast... good thing he can float! Barnaby tries speaking fish language as best he can. Suddenly, his mind is interrupted with thoughts: Shiny shiny shiny! Jones doesn't see anything... but the feeling on his feet grows tougher. After moving a distance, he finds himself unable to walk/kick. A quick look at his feet reveals the problem: a Stunfisk has wrapped around his left foot. Jones looks down at the electric-type that's wrapped around his foot and pales slightly. "I don't suppose you'd be willing to let go?" Charm: [result]12&1:2:4:5,4d6,0,12&4d6[/result] |

After a little while of fishing... the rod seizes up! (Athletics DC8 to pull up) (Focus 16) The Stunfisk doesn't budge a bit from being talked to. |

Gideon sighs, and looks over to Neil. "Neil, can you put him to sleep please?" The moon floats in closer, his eyes glowing as he attempts to hypnotize the electric-type. AC 6: [result]12&12,1d20,0,12&1d20[/result] |

The Stunfisk falls asleep almost instantly. Curiously, its grip only lessens slightly. (Sleep 6) |

Gideon pulls out one of the spare pokeballs he's got on hand, and taps it against the strangely persistant fish; trying to figure out how it's doing this even while asleep.
