The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

(15) Barnaby makes his way up the floor, with the ladder bolted to the wall... sturdy as heck. When he peeks his head to the next floor, it's empty... save for four Krabby that immediately scuttle away from him in fear. Poor things are frightened to death. |

Huh? How did they get up here? Ladders and crabs aren't quite the best mix. Thinking it best to debunk the fear, Barnaby crouches into a ball on the floor. He thinks back to his lessons at the Ambrette Town aquarium back home; one of Krabby's self-defence mechanisms is spreading foam to make it look larger after all! If Barnaby does the inverse and make himself appear smaller, it might inspire some courage in the creatures, or at least make them see him as less of a danger. The sooner he calmed these creatures down, the sooner he could learn their means of transportation through the towers! Poke-Education Disposition Roll: [result]7&1:1:2:1,4d6,2,7&4d6+2[/result] |

Barnaby scrunches down, making himself small. So small. Too small, in fact. To the Krabby, he becomes so small that his smallness rolls over into a whole new level, making him appear exponentially far, far larger than anything they've ever seen. The Krabby get in a big ol' huff, and assume aggressive stances. Looks like Barnaby is in for a fight. |

It was then that Barnaby realized that his team was incredibly unfit to counter water types, nevermind fend off two opponents at once. He quickly rolled back towards the ladder, hoping to form a chokepoint at the entrance from the floor below. Climbing down, he sent out Stagstrong to ready a blast of Hypnosis on the first Krabby to make an appearance at the ladder's top. Stagstrong outspeeds the bubbles coming from Krabby B. He retaliates by moving closer and stomping it out. Barnaby prepares his weighted net and hurls it over the hardened Krabby D, hoping to keep it out of physical range. Krabby B is brutally mauled by the stomping, flinching from the severe blows. His smaller stature causes him a total of 56 damage from the attack! |
