The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

Stefan retrieves the Grunt's only ball from his person, belonging to Cloyster obviously, and also finds a knife hidden in his boot. That would have hurt... good thing this one was a fan of running. Other than that, Stefan finds 400 Pyen on his person, as well as a small bag of berries! Two Rawst and a Chesto, to be precise. |

Stefan stashes the Grunt's belongings before binding up his wounds more kindly with a bandage. "Take it easy getting out of here. Stay low, avoid the mob, and find a new line of work." Stefan recalls his pokemon and gestures towards the exit of the grotto before moving towards it. "Shall we?" |

The Grunt kinda sits there. He must be in shock... which is plenty justified. The two exit... (post wherever) |

Owen was a little taken aback at Stefan's pragmatism in looting the Rocket, but made no protest. It made sense to ensure the grunt had no tricks up his sleeve, after all. "What should we do with the Cloyster?" Owen murmured as they herded their shocked captive back out of the Grotto. "Give it to the authorities? Or... did you intend to keep it? I doubt it will be cooperative; it seemed fairly loyal to its trainer. Either that or it simply didn't notice he was leaving it behind while he made his escape..." OOC

Stefan pauses at the exit of the grotto. The older gentleman had a valid point, and he couldn't disregard it. He definitely owed Owen some consideration. Perhaps he had just been trying to justify an easy addition to his pokedex. The Pokemon was not his, and the rumbling from within the ball made clear its discontent. This was not the way a Schwertwulf should act. This was the action of a criminal. "You're right." With a sigh, he releases the Cloyster and Sets the ball down. "Go back, and make sure your idiot of a trainer survives and cleans up his act." |

The Cloyster, a little confused but apparently not in combat, immediately moves over to its trainer, nudging him. The grunt similarly puts an arm around the Cloyster. That would have been a sad bond to break... |

Owen beamed proudly at Stefan, surprised but pleased by his change of heart. "I'm gratified to see you're the type of man who would show kindness even to an enemy," he laughed, clapping a hand on the younger trainer's back. "I'm not sure how well that thief would have fared down here anyways, injured and bereft of Pokemon." He gestured back up the stairs. "Come, let's see if the others have this dreadful situation in hand!" |

Barnaby climbs the marble passage with great haste, nearly slipping into the water once he reached the docks. So this was the underwater grove mentioned the other day! If there really was an Atlantis out there, he's pretty sure it would look something like this. Hoping to calm his nerves a bit, the Colonel draws his fishing kit from his bag and sends out Dustermuch as a companion. Today would be the day he hauled up the prize Bass...culin for the aquarium back home in Kalos! (Saving those rolls for later) The Colonel seems a bit excited to go fishing here; but it looks like he needs his glasses checked. Contrary to what he's been told about this place... he doesn't see any water. Just a bunch of tall buildings and columns... and what looks like some water covering the bottom of the chamber. Far, far down from where he's standing. |

Spoiler: click to toggle Barnaby pulls off his glasses after about 5 minutes of fishing, only to realize the vast pool of water was just condensation dripping off his bifocals. Well, doesn't look like there was anything capable of jumping high enough to reach the lure. Taking a moment to wipe off his glasses, the Colonel re-plans his fishing trip, scouting for potential ways to reach the pool at the lower floor. Dustermuch remains out to provide moral support and a much needed second set of eyes. |
