The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing.

The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level.

Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes?

"Hang in there, you two!" Owen shouted encouragingly to the swimming Pokemon, his eyes narrowing as he took in all the factors of the battle. Both combatants were at a disadvantage against an aquatic Pokemon in the water, but they had it outnumbered now... "Try to flank that shelled menace, create an opening! Once you're in position, Dusty, give it something to listen to!" The Cloyster could now be outmaneuvered unless it chose to move through the poisonous spores scattered around it.
-------------

Standard action: Constructive Criticism + Cheerleader on both Krieger and Dusty.
Shift + Swift action + 1 AP: Forceful Command to double the effects of those Orders.
Both Pokemon have +2 Accuracy, +2 Evade, and may either get a +4 bonus to their next Save Check or gain 4 temp HP. (Dusty will immediately gain the temp HP.)

Krieger weathers the assault of ice, starting to feel the battle's toll in full. He wouldn't let up now, though, not when there was another pokemon and trainer in the mix.

Stefan could only make out some of the chaos of the battle behind him. It sounded like one of the others had come to the rescue. Was that the old man back there? Krieger likely couldn't hear Stefan that well, but the pokemon was a born fighter, and hopefully could manage himself well. Salz, on the other hand, needed to be guided.

"Salz, don't take that from him! Drag him back here in your teeth if you have to, just don't let him get away!"

The sound pierces the Cloyster's thick shell, and it is confused! Krieger finally seems able to get through its massive defenses, and hits it square in the pearl-face... it doesn't take kindly to that, and responds by smacking itself with its shell. (Confusion roll 6)

Salz chomps down hard, and the Grunt cries out in pain, stopping exactly there. His legs are pretty bloodied... and he begins to drift down into the water, unable to kick.

Krieger had shrugged off the Cloyster's crushing ice attack easily enough, but Owen surmised his own frailer Pokemon wouldn't fare as well. "Hang back for now, Dusty - Kindle, let's frustrate him a bit!" The Vulpix leaned forward and raised his tails with a growl, and a small purple flame appeared at each tip, wavering out to encircle the Cloyster.

Owen will repeat the previous turn's actions.

Concerned that the grunt might drown before they could get information or loot off of him, Stefan calls Schlamm out and tries to have the two water types buoy the disabled raider.

Cloyster finds himself disgusted at the blasts of ice... taking advantage of Krieger's confusion, it turns its attention to Dusty, and blasts with Water Pulse! [result]4&4,1d20,0,4&1d20[/result] [result]35&2:5:4,3d6,24,35&3d6+24[/result]

The Water Pokemon both hoist the Grunt up, giving him enough room to breathe.
