The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing.

The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level.

Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes?

"Alright, I'm going to dive down a bit, see if I can't find it and bring it up. You guys just keep watch up here and let me know if you see anything bad."

Jason dove down into the water, keeping his eyes open for what might have been the Tentacruel that he battled before.

The shadows in the water scatter... swiftly, but not like a Tentacool. They don't seem interested in Jason.

The darkness below is still blinding.

Jason dove deeper, ignoring the shadows but had his eye out for a specific one, one that would signify the great fight.

The Makuhita float at the surface; they seem like they will dive down whenever they sense danger.

No shadows move in the darkness, but Jason spies a few purple things floating in the water... tell-tale Toxic Spikes. Tentacruel can't be too far down.

Jason motioned for one of the Makuhita to come down and get rid of the spikes before moving further.

One of the Makuhita swims down, and with a powerful stroke in the water, pushes aside most of the Toxic Spikes with a Whirlwind attack! The path is clear, but there's still no Tentacruel in sight.

Jason nodded towards the Makuhita and dove further, hoping to find this thing and get the battle started.

Not much farther now... but Jason notices a pair of gleaming red circles in the water. Seems like it's ready for round two.

Initiative

The Tentacruel starts off the beatdown by shooting Acid at Jason! [result]7&7,1d20,0,7&1d20[/result] [result]29&4:6,2d6,19,29&2d6+19[/result]

Jason begins to float up, hoping the tentacruel would follow, at least to the light before he began to channel himself.

Meditate.

The Makuhita all float at the surface, not confident to drop so low.

The Tentacruel follows a little, but sits at the edge of the darkness. Right before Jason hits the edge of the light (?), the Tentacruel tries to keep him down with Wrap! [result]2&2,1d20,0,2&1d20[/result] [result]13&5,1d6,8,13&1d6+8[/result]

A finely-wrapped present floats up from the darkness, brushing against Jason's legs.
