The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

The ball lands in the water, and the fish swims farther than Merchant can see. Is gone. EXP

Merchant takes a chunk of the unconscious Basculin before tossing it back into the water. He decides to cut his losses for now and head back to camp to get patched up before he embarks further. |

Jason makes his way to the Grotto after his conquest in the Slag Ruins and takes a look around before hopping over the platforms to get to where he found the Tentacruel before. |

The short hops are easily made, with the quartet of Makuhita helping out, and the five make it to the spot where Jason's fatal dive took him... eerie. |

Jason looked in the water, hoping to see that eerie shadow from before before turning back to the Makuhita. "Alright, he's down there... hopefully we can get him to come to the surface so we can breathe...but last time I fought him, he was too scared to come up too high. Are any of you frightened?" |

(Focuses: 9, 10, 16, 10) Three Makuhita flex, affirming their faith in their new leader. One Makuhita seems a little shaky. Shadows move briefly in the water below... most likely Tentacool, but it's hard to tell. |

Jason looks towards the shaky Makuhita and pats him on the shoulder lightly. "Don't worry. None of us are going to die here. We are going to defeat this thing and get out alright...then we can celebrate back home." Command for inspiration [result]9&2:5,2d6,2,9&2d6+2[/result] Jason then turned to the water and dove in, allowing his body to get used to the temperature of the water and waiting for his friends to join him. |

The three Makuhita dive in immediately, with the fourth one lagging behind a bit, but coming after a few seconds. They're willing to follow wherever Jason goes, but do still need to breathe... |
