The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing.

The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level.

Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes?

Coughing, Oz orders Hayek to continue the assault with a little less fervor. He backs up to the relatively smokeless platform, while his Elekid tries to find the Horsea with his fist.

Hayek smashes the live Horsea, but the seahorse rebounds with a series of bubbles to the face!

Bubble

Jason notes an open window close to the water on a nearby building. Despite the water-weight, he's able to pull himself through... inside this room, the water comes up to his ankles, though the room otherwise seems intact. A set of stairs leads up to a second floor, and he can clearly see the shadow in the water from this, with Oz's smoke-covered platform directly on the other side.

Looking around a little bit from inside the building, Jason rings out his shirt a little bit before moving up to the second floor, keeping his eyes out for anything that might be there. He hoped to find something of value to make up for his consumables, but he is also trying to figure out what that shadow is.

Oz wastes no time in chucking a Pokeball at the battered Horsea, hoping that he can hit it in the dense smoke. Meanwhile, Hayek bolsters his defenses, his eyes on the approaching shadow.

Jason doesn't note much of anything as he moves up to the next floor... just a few more open windows, and no other way up. No water up here, aside from water drenching him.

The Poke Ball unfortunately sails past the Horsea, landing in the water behind it. It floats, but it seems the shadow is startled... and splits off in a million directions! That thing was a bunch of Pokemon together, it seems... and three of them bounce up to the surface, landing on the smoke-covered platform behind the two Horsea! The Horsea itself runs toward the archway, hoping to escape certain doom or capture...

"Crap." Jason was hoping to get closer to the shadowed pokemon...especially since there were multiples, but instead he was going to have to perform some acrobatic moves just to get close.

Jason does a bounding leap out the window, a perfect dive right into the water, next to the stone roof Oz occupied! It would take a few seconds to pull himself to shore, if he wanted to.

Oz exasperatedly runs his hand through his short-cropped hair as the Pokeball plops into the water. Hopefully he can nab it later. He exchanges a glance with Hayek, and the two go to business.

Oz chucks another ball towards the fleeing Horsea, while Hayek unleashes another torrent of electricity at the obscured Pokemon.

As Jason splashes into the water beside him, Oz's meticulously maintained cool is shattered, and he lets out a rather high-pitched shriek. Seeing that it's Jason, he collects himself, grinning sheepishly.

"Oh. Heh. Good to see you. Need a hand?"

Oz's Poke Ball crackles with electricity, from a good throw and a Thundershock boost, as it sails at the Horsea!

...and goes right past the Pokemon, joining the other ball in the water. Fortunately, the Horsea is hopping past the Smokescreen, and is ever so slowly attempting to scale the arch. It's not concerned with hurting anything, only escaping with its life.
