The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing.

The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level.

Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes?

With a swift tug, the rope appears to have grappled onto something! How much weight it can hold is debatable, but for now the rope appears to be snug.

The glimmer of Tentacool orbs divide the attention of the Wooper two ways: half of them play upon the bloody chandelier, while the other two swarm the duo of Tentacool!

Jones doesn't feel the least bit guilty. If they need to, the Tentacool can dive to get away from the swarm. At least this way the Wooper won't just get picked off one by one. Turning his flashlight off again, he'll tuck it into his pack, and wrap one arm around the rope, slowly increasing the amount of weight that's on the rope while keeping one hand on the ladder. If it doesn't shift too much, he'll begin to climb.

The rope gives Jones a little slack, but seems snug enough to climb up... at the bottom, the entire floor gives way to the chandelier, and the Tentacool and Wooper disappear into the water below.

Jones will pull himself up hand-over-hand to reach the top.

Jones barely manages to pull himself up to the rooftop... upon getting up, he sees that his rope was actually hooked onto a tiny marble statuette of a whirlpool. It's surprising that it could even hold the rope...

He'll move forward and examine the statue. "You're an odd one, aren't you?" He'll also look around the room to see what else is in here.

Examining the room, Jones notes that the room is in fact not a room, but the roof of the building. This appears to be the tallest building within a long range, and he can get a good vantage of the icy area that covers the back third of the chamber.

The statue appears to be cracking at its thin base...

Jones smirks slightly as he unloops the rope from the statue, but pauses and double checks that there are other points where he can secure a rope up here aside from the statue. He'll also note down the positions of all the buildings he can see, as well as anything that stands out about the icy area at the back of the chamber.
