The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

The shuffling doesn't seem to work... Jones attracts the attention of whatever is down below. Two pairs of red shadows rise up to the source of whatever is shuffling around. Peeking their heads out, they appear to be little curious Tentacool. |

Jones gives them a small wave. "Hi there. Just passing though. No need to get territorial..." He keeps his voice low and friendly. |

(Your Charm roll is actually 1d6, not 2. I rolled for you and lucky Jones got an 8) The Tentacool seem disinterested, but drift uneasily in the shallows. |

Jones continues on to the ladder, and begins to ascend. (sorry, opened up the wrong char sheet and didn't notice.) |

At the top of the ladder... there are Wooper. Lots and lots of Wooper. As Jones's head comes into the room, the whole place is packed with Wooper. He can barely see above their heads, yet what he spies is an ornate chandelier hanging from a chain. |

Jones takes a long look around the room, keeping as still as possible. Are there any exits from here? And does it look like there's any way to unchain the chandelier and lower it? Perception: [result]16&4:4:6,3d6,2,16&3d6+2[/result] |

The only exits are high windows, ones that would require some pretty big jumps to get to. The chandelier seems to be hooked on right at the end of the chain, but there isn't any discernible way of lowering the chain, aside from breaking the ceiling itself. |

Jones frowns at that. All of these Wooper couldn't simply have appeared here... And there was no way they all made it up and down a ladder like the one he was on, especially without hands. He'll stand up straight in the room once he's at the top of the ladder, and try and see if maybe there's a hole somewhere in this press that could serve as an exit or entrance. Perception: [result]15&3:5:5,3d6,2,15&3d6+2[/result] Edu: Pokemon: [result]11&4:5,2d6,2,11&2d6+2[/result] in regards to the Wooper. |
