The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

Clamperl fails to intercept, and Jason takes the full extent of the Tentacruel's bubbly wrath. The shock proves to be too much for him, and he floats upward... knocked out. Merchant and Stefan tail the brown blur shooting through the buildings, and come to the edge of the icy area, where the buildings seem to stop. They look down, and notice a floating body in the water with a Clamperl next to it... Jason! Looks like he bit off more than he could chew. Suddenly, the brown blur comes to a grinding halt. The view is clear enough that the two identify the shape almost immediately... of course, they'd be foolish not to know a Baltoy this far into the pyramid. The spinning top Pokemon descends toward the apparently-buoyant Jason, and it begins spinning, slowly at first, but soon speeds up immensely, glowing a purple energy as it descends further down on Jason. At the moment the Baltoy makes contact with Jason's body, a bright flash is let out, and he and his Pokemon are gone. |

Stefan's teeth grit as he's reminded of just how dangerous the pyramid is. Is he dead? "What should we do?" He releases Keres as he watches the baltoy, not intending to let it flee with the body of their 'coworker'. He also tries to figure out exactly what happened, and what the baltoy may have done. Rolling Pokemon Education, though I suspect this would be better for the Occultists. [result]16&6:5:5,3d6,0,16&3d6[/result] |

Merchant scratches his head. How strange. "Maybe! " He turns around to head back to the front entrance. "Perhaps further testing should be done." |

They were too late. Stefan follows Merchant once more, trying not to think about it. |

The Baltoy looks like it Teleported off with Jason's inert body. No interruptions later, Merchant and Stefan are back at the entrance of the chamber. |
