The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

Jason begins to swim back to the surface, wondering if there was something up there that would make the trip worthwhile. |

Jason spies a few sheets of ice getting noticeably thicker a little ways off, with one large plate forming out of fragments... nifty. |

Merchant tosses a ball to Stephen. "Cat, help Stephen open it. Or vice versa." The Meowth pops up on the other side and looks into the chest lock with interest. (I'll let you handle Cat's guile or the assistance it can give/can be given. |

Maybe this dive wasn't the best of plans as there was nothing of value..at least not yet. He was going to keep looking for now..it wouldn't hurt anything to do so. Percep: [result]6&5:1,2d6,0,6&2d6[/result]-1 Edited by GeneralHotbod, Sep 13 2013, 02:26 PM.

Unfortunately, Jason doesn't realize that the plate is gigantic and stretches many meters back, connecting to the back end of the chamber! Meowth Guile: [result]15&4:4:5,3d6,2,15&3d6+2[/result] |

Cat easily opens up the trunk with little effort. Inside is an ancient... pocket mirror. |

Jason swims down, towards the bottom of the chamber, keeping his eyes open for anything that might be around. Maybe teh good stuff is at the bottom. |

The water at the bottom of the chamber quickly gets very dark... incredibly so. The light of the surface is barely visible. Any farther down, and Jason will be completely blind. Further down still, there's twin glimmers of red deeper in the darkness. |

The darkness was an issue...but perhaps Jason could work some magic down here anyways. He swam towards the two glimmers of red, wondering what they could be, or who they belonged to. |

Stefan thanks Merchant before recalling Cat and passing the pokeball back. He starts to toss the mirror back but thinks better of it. He ties his rope around his waist before tossing an end back across the gap. "Grab hold of that for me, would you please?" If Merchant does so, he attempts to leap back over. Athletics with action point. : [result]12&1:6:2,3d6,3,12&3d6+3[/result] |
