The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

Stefan leaps over to the roof. Athletics.[result]12&5:2:3,3d6,2,12&3d6+2[/result] "I'm no mason, but if steel can bust stone and ice, I'd think ancient building materials wouldn't fare so well. Metal structures like back in the ruins would have rusted by now, so I think they're something else. Let's give it a shot." Once there, he calls out Krieger and has the pokemon use Metal Claw on the cracked segment, hoping to widen it. [result]38&5:6,2d6,27,38&2d6+27[/result] steel damage. |

The air gauge still has plenty of the stuff, and Jason is off once more. Lurking at the edge of darkness, as far as he can see, is one shadow cutting through the water. It's bigger than the Shellder at least. Krieger busts through the ancient stonework, creating a hole just big enough for Stefan and Merchant to crawl through. |

Jason swims towards the shadow, wanting to get closer and see what exactly was down here. Perception:[result]5&3:2,2d6,0,5&2d6[/result]-1 |

Jason tries to get closer, but it's too dark to really make out anything specific, besides the fact that something is swimming around very quickly... |

Jason squints a little bit and curses under his breath. Swiftly he swam closer to the shadow, hoping to get as close as he could without spooking the pokemon. |

Stefan crawls through the hole after recalling Krieger. If there is a watery drop on the other side, he is best equipped to discover it. |

Jason ganders at the figure, approaching not so silently, but gets close enough to figure out the shape of the Pokemon. A derpy face on a white body... Seel! The Seel takes notice of Jason, but does not act, merely swimming around at its content. |

Jason looks to the Seel, watching it swim around and then looks around to see if any more were around before pulling out his pokeballs and releasing his Tyrogue. "Let's finish this quick, Angel and get you back in the ball." Speeds

Seel takes note of the deployment, and stops to face Jason... Speed Stefan crawls onto a broken floor... there's only a little bit on the side he steps on, and below him is only water. On the other side of the room, there seems to be a small trunk! Unfortunately, the gap between them would take quite a jump to traverse. |
