The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

Merchant spies the buildings getting noticeably thicker along the line he's in, but seemingly fanning out the farther from the entrance they get. Stefan can only see water occupying the bottom of the other entrances. Jason feels the cold water once more, and diving down into the freezing blue, he spots some moving shadows in the distance... |

The cold water was refreshing and eye opening, but Jason began to swim towards the shadows, keeping his eyes open. Percep: [result]12&6:6,2d6,0,12&2d6[/result]-1 |

Merchant leads the way to the wider buildings, attempting to get to the center of the largest one. (I dont know if I'm visualizing this right, but I trust you get the gist of my intent* |

As Jason swims forward, he notes the shadows settling down on a rock that extends up from the abyss below... and sticking large tongues out at him. He's found a trio of Shellder! Merchant hops along rooftops toward larger buildings, and comes upon one that is so tall it scrapes against the ceiling of the grotto! He can't get atop it, but the wall on the side is cracked a bit... |

Merchant looks at the wall and ponders to himself. "Stephen, do you know how to break this wall down?" |

Jason looked to the Shellder and then reached for his pokeballs. He then shook his head and decided to swim past them if he could, he didn't really want to deal with more shelled, tough pokemon if he didn't have to. But he also wanted to see if there was anything else good deeper down. |

Stefan approaches the crack. "My best bet, as always, is to rely on Krieger. But the little tank doesn't jump or swim so well. . . " OOC

It's too dark for Jason too see much farther down... this would warrant a deeper swim. OOC

Jason checked the air gauge on his tank before diving deeper and looking around, wondering what he could find. |
