The marble architecture leading down the sparkling passage becomes more articulate the further on it goes, from a few wavy lines to a full-on ocean mural, depicting many aquatic Pokemon. The odd sparkling light reflects off of all sides, despite any source nearby... that is soon changed, however, when the passage fans outward to a bright, noisy clearing. The tunnel ends atop a set of stairs leading downward a meter, which itself leads to a marble platform carved into the wall on this side of the chamber. The platform is essentially a stone dock; the rest of the chamber, under the level of that dock, is filled with water. How far down cannot be discerned, but what is certain is that this place was once tall and majestic. The tips of massive stonework buildings peak out of the surface of the water, waves crashing softly against the masonry. The tops of lower buildings form platforms that can be traversed with hearty jumps. Just as well, some buildings poke out even taller, gaining a story of space above the water level. Above the water, the chamber resonates a white-blue reflection of the deep. Lanterns are strung up instead of being bolted to the wall, and the far wall stretches upward at an angle to meet the back wall in a triangle formation. The chamber is actually quite large as far as forward-backward goes, but who knows how far down it goes? |

Oz is positively glowing at the sight of the expansive chamber. He noted that he'd have to request supplies from his employers; while there may be treasures above these waters, they're probably nothing compared to what's beneath. For now, he cannot go down, so he is content to move forward. The wide expanse doesn't exactly lend itself to stealth, but he tries to advance as subtly as possible, adeptly leaping from building to building. Oz seems to be some sort of parkour master, as he swiftly jumps from building to building in a fashion that would make an Accelgor jealous. After hopping about three buildings in succession, he comes upon a proverbial fork in the road: if he continues forward, he'll freerun over a massive archway that rises many meters up out of the water. While it doesn't exactly seem dangerous, the path is very thin up there, and there's no telling what might spy him from that high up... to his side, a building rises up about two stories from the water. The windows look like they're all filled in with marble, save for one broken one. Some prominent looting could be done in there! |

Not wanting to lose his momentum, Oz makes a split-second decision: loot first, danger later. Oz clambers through the window, eager to see what's on the other side. |

As he hurdles through the window, Oz nearly falls face-first into a room full of water, reaching up to his waist in height. Some of the bottom has fallen out, leading deeper into the lower floors of the building, but some floor remains along the edges of the walls... on the wall opposite of where he entered, there's some sort small trunk on a shelf? A quick wade (or swim) through the water is all that separates him from the trunk... |

Not one to look a gift horsea in the mouth, Oz happily wades through the water and opens the trunk. Hopefully whatever valuables ancient folk may have kept here aren't too waterlogged. |

The small trunk contains some sort of ruby amulet... two, in fact! They're both circular, about the size of Oz's eyes, and are strung like necklaces. Lucky day! From this angle, Oz is able to get a bit better look into the cavernous abyss below. There seems to be lanterns strung up down in the water on the lower level, glowing brightly despite being completely submerged. Shadows of sea Pokemon dash across the walls below, though he can't make out which kinds swim below at a glance. |

Oz enjoys a solitary fist pump before pocketing the amulets. He'll have to include these in his report back to the Cawdor Group, but with any luck, they'll let him keep them as a bonus. The submerged floors below sorely tempt him, but he's a rather unremarkable swimmer, making this exactly the sort of exploration that shouldn't be done alone. He couldn't imagine how furious his employers would be if he drowned. Instead, he backtracks, and makes his way over to the massive archway. Realizing that the archway is the very definition of exposed, Oz fiddles with his cufflinks and becomes fully visible once again. He also takes the opportunity to summon his Elekid, Hayek. They share a fist pump, Hayek's little arm crackling with electricity, before advancing up the archway. OOC

The archway provides a fantastic view of the surrounding parts of the chamber, and at the peak height, Oz spies that the building he was in moments before has a giant gash running up the side of it facing the archway... he can see other rooms from this angle, but not the room he was in. From up here, he can also spy typical freshwater Pokemon lurking about. They can see him as well, but none are sore about a lone explorer and his Elekid, or at the very least don't want to pick a fight with an Electric-type. Either way, they're about two or three stories below him, and aren't likely to pose a threat unless he gets closer. The archway looks like it ends at the top of another building just barely out of the water, which itself is surrounded by three buildings sticking up as tall as the arch out of the water. Curious enough, all the windows that face the inner building are broken open, just like the one from before, yet the rest are sealed off; it would take a nice long jump to grab onto one. Right before he begins his descent, Oz spies a duo of Pokemon swimming up to the surrounded building, looking like they're trying to climb up on top of the masonry... |
