Theme Music is now mandatory

The air grows more humid the further into the tunnel one moves, heated to the point that the walls themselves seem to melt... giving way to solid steel. Five minutes into it, the passage widens out like a fan, opening immensely into a chamber that seems straight out of a volcanic temple.

The clay-brick architecture exists only on the ground, which feels much more dense when one walks on it. Six immense stone spikes carve out an invitation to those who wish to wander around this chamber, maybe hoping to get burned? The chamber itself stretches back immensely far, appearing to occupy one whole slice of the pyramid. The wall behind the group rises straight up, but the back wall in this chamber, as far as the group can see, slants at a sharp angle to meet the other wall behind them.

Occupying the rest of this chamber appears to be a village-sized conglomerate of melted architecture! Regardless of the origin, this whole place looks like a molten city. There are even small lava pools dotting the ground around the entrance to this place, a connect-the-dots puzzle of melted rock surrounding a dead steel city... this place is truly intimidating, but a fit place to adventure for the hardier explorer.

"Not very, truth be told. I generally ended up being the first out in hide and seek as a kid. I'd probably serve better as a distraction."

Merchant stares at the guy before shrugging his shoulders.
"That works too."

Merchant heads for the staircase, taking a longer loop to investigate the various buildings.

"Watch for artifacts and treasures."

[result]19&4:4:6,3d6,5,19&3d6+5[/result] Perception to look for loot, and not step in lava and such.

Should nothing be found (or after its found), he heads up the staircase.

Stefan sighs and follows. Though he has an eye out for treasure, he is more interested in signs of Pokemon.

Jones shrugs to himself. At this juncture there's no real way to get over there without asking Inferno, and the little fireball's internal heat would potentially do more harm than good. He'd already slagged one item, better not to chance it with whatever had been shining. He makes a mental note of the location of this particular house, and climbs out. He'll also head for the stairs; keeping a close eye out for any dangers, or potential spoils to grab on his way out.

Merchant takes a lengthy detour, but a worthy one. By the time he reaches the stairs, he has found the stone base of what looks like a torch! It's unlit and has no wick, but once repaired, it could be of use later.

The staircase is a small metal one, similar to a fire escape (ironic huh?). Bits and pieces of it are falling off, but such hazards are averted by a careful step, and it seems sturdy enough to walk up without the whole thing coming apart. While Merchant makes haste to scurry up to the top of the melty building, Stefan peeks carefully into each window, hoping to spy some sort of Pokemon, but all he sees are Slugma. Jones follows a bit behind, about a quarter of the way down the stairs.

The entire staircase seems to go to the top of the building, going about seven meters around the perimeter, and turning ninety degrees to continue in the pattern. There's seven stories to this building, it seems, and each set ascends one story. At the top, a small ladder leads to the roof of the building, surely providing a good view of the chamber.

Merchant climbs to the top of the building and looks out over the skyline. The heat up here was stifling, getting worse and worse as he climbed up.

He waits for Stephen as he looks across the area for anything out of place, or for potential exits.

"Merchant does not do free things. But perhaps an investment. Merchant will teach subdual techniques to Slug. Should anything else be nearby, perhaps it may learn it too."

Merchant notes a few hovering balls of fire in the distance... with wings.

Stefan clambers up next to him.

"Could you teach it to Krieger instead? He's stronger, can subdue faster"

"Yes yes. Merchant meant Merchant's Slug. Also, Keese....firebats attacking."
He points off into the distance where the balls of fire seemed to be approaching.

"Perhaps...we fight inside?"
