Theme Music is now mandatory The air grows more humid the further into the tunnel one moves, heated to the point that the walls themselves seem to melt... giving way to solid steel. Five minutes into it, the passage widens out like a fan, opening immensely into a chamber that seems straight out of a volcanic temple. The clay-brick architecture exists only on the ground, which feels much more dense when one walks on it. Six immense stone spikes carve out an invitation to those who wish to wander around this chamber, maybe hoping to get burned? The chamber itself stretches back immensely far, appearing to occupy one whole slice of the pyramid. The wall behind the group rises straight up, but the back wall in this chamber, as far as the group can see, slants at a sharp angle to meet the other wall behind them. Occupying the rest of this chamber appears to be a village-sized conglomerate of melted architecture! Regardless of the origin, this whole place looks like a molten city. There are even small lava pools dotting the ground around the entrance to this place, a connect-the-dots puzzle of melted rock surrounding a dead steel city... this place is truly intimidating, but a fit place to adventure for the hardier explorer. The mess of explorers makes it all the way up the building with little difficulty. Nice. The roof of this building is a small, mostly flat space. From here, the surrounding buildings can be viewed a little better. Lucky enough, it looks like an adjacent unexplored building has a hole in the roof that can be entered with a leap, crawl, or whatever else. |

Dusty jumps... on the rope, and slides down easily. Rope burn hurts though. This new room doesn't appear to have any exits or ways down... candles line to top of the wall, odd for a place that apparently has electric lights everywhere else. There's some old posters on the wall, depicting fire and human bodies, and a few trunks, most of them empty. There's two closed ones, though. |

Dusty has Snub col his hands off before heading into the room. He lifts one of the candles and walks over to the nearest closed trunk and attempts to open it. |

There doesn't seem to be any kind of trap here; no signs of recent activity, either. Dusty's trunk isn't locked, and he finds three dull red metal contraptions inside... they look like primitive fire extinguishers? (Cone 2 Struggle, +1 DB, SE against Fire, NVE all else) Inei's trunk is locked, but he manages to pry the thing open. After opening the lock, however, it still doesn't want to open. It feels like something's holding the lid down still. |

Dusty gathers the orbs, and pockets them. He sees Inei having issues and asks, "Want a hand?" [result]10&2:5,2d6,3,10&2d6+3[/result] Athletics to help pry open the trunk. |
