Theme Music is now mandatory The air grows more humid the further into the tunnel one moves, heated to the point that the walls themselves seem to melt... giving way to solid steel. Five minutes into it, the passage widens out like a fan, opening immensely into a chamber that seems straight out of a volcanic temple. The clay-brick architecture exists only on the ground, which feels much more dense when one walks on it. Six immense stone spikes carve out an invitation to those who wish to wander around this chamber, maybe hoping to get burned? The chamber itself stretches back immensely far, appearing to occupy one whole slice of the pyramid. The wall behind the group rises straight up, but the back wall in this chamber, as far as the group can see, slants at a sharp angle to meet the other wall behind them. Occupying the rest of this chamber appears to be a village-sized conglomerate of melted architecture! Regardless of the origin, this whole place looks like a molten city. There are even small lava pools dotting the ground around the entrance to this place, a connect-the-dots puzzle of melted rock surrounding a dead steel city... this place is truly intimidating, but a fit place to adventure for the hardier explorer. Merchant is lucky! After wandering around for a minute, he finds a group of not one, two, but FOUR Slugma! They seem to me on the move, traversing the open terrain as fast as their little slug bodies can take them. One more comes from behind, spaced behind the rest, for a total of five slugs. Its body is slightly more craggy than the others... perhaps it has been out of lava too long? Jones stumbles into the building Merchant's Meowth dipped into moments before. Sizing up the room he enters, it appears that... most of the floor is cracked, showing signs of lava underneath. The whole place appears quite fragile... |

Jones looks at the floor, before glancing down at the pokeballs on his belt. After a moment, he nods to himself, and releases Inferno next to him. He'll stay where he is and scan the room to see if he can spot anything small and portable while he waits for the ghost to wake up. Stefan follows along behind Merchant, trusting his senses. When they come across the swarm of slugma, all Stefan sees are multiple chances for capture and valuable battle experience for Krieger. While he considers his best plan for attack, he waits for his employer to make the first move. |

Merchant stands back a bit from the straggler. "Alright. Bat hit, and then we catch, yes? If we miss your pokemon and Cat hit and try again." Seeing Stephen ready, he sends in the Zubat. "Alright Zubat, Surprise it!" The bat divebombs the Slugma, biting at it. [result]18&18,1d20,0,18&1d20[/result] Astonish, flinch on 18-20 [result]15&4,1d6,11,15&1d6+11[/result] Physical ghost damage. Stefan nods. "Krieger will set up a Stealth Rock to soften them up." He then hangs back and waits for his opening. Edit (for Anonyman) Spoiler: click to toggle

Initiatives The Slugma is hit hard by the Astonish. It is immobilized, but the Zubat is not so lucky itself; Slugma's Flame Body has burnt the poor bat! ================================== The Gastly is roused from its sleep, confused on why the hell it's out of its lava pool. It looks around, spotting Jones, and furrows its brown in an aggressive manner... meanwhile, Jones spots a few bolted-down torches hanging up high. A few shelves are on the other side of the room, but the only way to really explore them is by crossing the fragile floor... Edited by BatiroAtrain, Aug 29 2013, 10:57 PM.

Jones focuses on the aggressive looking mon. "Hey now, none of that. I caught you fair and square. I'd like to form a partnership with you. I'm something of an explorer, and you'd be a lot of help down here. You'd also be able to see more of the temple than just this one place. I'll also feed you, and heal you if you get injured. As well as help you grow more powerful; maybe even powerful enough to evolve. In return, all I ask is your cooperation. At the very least if we run into something stronger than you, you've got backup now; okay?" Jones keeps his voice calm and soothing as he speaks to the floating ball of fiery death.

Stefan notes the zubat's pained reaction to making a melee attack and reminds himself to play it safe. He throws a great ball at the wounded slugma, hoping that it was hit hard enough before giving Krieger his command. "Krieger, Stealth Rock in their midst! Soften them all up!"
