Theme Music is now mandatory

The air grows more humid the further into the tunnel one moves, heated to the point that the walls themselves seem to melt... giving way to solid steel. Five minutes into it, the passage widens out like a fan, opening immensely into a chamber that seems straight out of a volcanic temple.

The clay-brick architecture exists only on the ground, which feels much more dense when one walks on it. Six immense stone spikes carve out an invitation to those who wish to wander around this chamber, maybe hoping to get burned? The chamber itself stretches back immensely far, appearing to occupy one whole slice of the pyramid. The wall behind the group rises straight up, but the back wall in this chamber, as far as the group can see, slants at a sharp angle to meet the other wall behind them.

Occupying the rest of this chamber appears to be a village-sized conglomerate of melted architecture! Regardless of the origin, this whole place looks like a molten city. There are even small lava pools dotting the ground around the entrance to this place, a connect-the-dots puzzle of melted rock surrounding a dead steel city... this place is truly intimidating, but a fit place to adventure for the hardier explorer.

The Shuppet do indeed come out... but not from the same building! The two ghosts pop up behind Reya, out of a different building. They're still kind of ambivalent, but a little more interested; perhaps they sense something in her intentions.

Where to start? Communing with ghosts isn't exactly a common skill. Reya treads carefully, "Would either of you know of a woman in these ruins that looks like me, only slightly more...deceased." The explanation was as good as any, yet doesn't capture the chill of the apparition.

The Shuppet look at each other... they don't quite seem to understand the question. Regardless, they probably haven't seen humans for quite some time, and don't seem to respond to what she says. Evidently, she doesn't look very familiar as far as that is concerned.

Though she had hoped for a lead, it had only been a glimmer of hope, which faded quickly with the duo's confusion. "Never mind." She says quietly. Then with a bitter edge creeping in, "I'm in need of a spy. I'd rather one of you volunteer but I need to know." It is clear that 'no' is not an answer she would accept as she palms Sada's ball.

The Shuppet actually seem rather pleased with this development! Maybe they're just happy to find a source of emotions to feed from, but they seem willing to go along with what she wants to do.

Reya hadn't been certain the ghosts would help at all, a lucky break! "I'm planning on poking around down here some more so you can wait around for me to get back or tag along." She continues down the alley keeping a look out for the little dancers.

The ghosts seem content to float around this area... looks like they don't want to follow, but they'll stick around this place.

The five Darumaka are sleeping in the back of the alley, covered in thin scrap blankets. Yes... it is adorable.

Reya stifles an 'awww' before finding away around them to continue investigating. Even if it is a bit after of the middle of the day, something that adorable shouldn't be disturbed.

Reya has a misstep or two... but thankfully, the little guys are very heavy sleepers.

And so is the Darmanitan that she almost runs into as she turns the corner.

Reya tries to vacate the area. It wouldn't end well to end up between a mother and it's young. That Darmanitan would probably flatten Sada, best to be elsewhere when it awoke. She tries to head down a different street if possible, to avoid disturbing the sleeping Mons.
