Theme Music is now mandatory

The air grows more humid the further into the tunnel one moves, heated to the point that the walls themselves seem to melt... giving way to solid steel. Five minutes into it, the passage widens out like a fan, opening immensely into a chamber that seems straight out of a volcanic temple.

The clay-brick architecture exists only on the ground, which feels much more dense when one walks on it. Six immense stone spikes carve out an invitation to those who wish to wander around this chamber, maybe hoping to get burned? The chamber itself stretches back immensely far, appearing to occupy one whole slice of the pyramid. The wall behind the group rises straight up, but the back wall in this chamber, as far as the group can see, slants at a sharp angle to meet the other wall behind them.

Occupying the rest of this chamber appears to be a village-sized conglomerate of melted architecture! Regardless of the origin, this whole place looks like a molten city. There are even small lava pools dotting the ground around the entrance to this place, a connect-the-dots puzzle of melted rock surrounding a dead steel city... this place is truly intimidating, but a fit place to adventure for the hardier explorer.

The Mud-Slap misses, but the Hypnosis causes the lava monster to fall asleep... it falls back into the pool it emerged from, floating in the molten pool.

Merchant makes his way into the room to better analyze the creature, hoping to get info before it wakes.

He takes out a Pokedex and with a few presses of the button, scans it.

His Meowth waits too, ready to pounce.

"Merchant is impressed. Perhaps he will capture this."

Stefan remains where he is, not certain that the threat is past.

"Can it be captured? What is it? A warped Slugma of some sort?"

Jones studies the sleeping thing for a moment, trying to pick out any features that may help him identify it, still juggling the urn from hand to hand in an effort to cool it down. Beside him, Digger is tense, but quiet, seeing the threat has seemingly been neutralized already.

Jones ascertains the Pokemon as some sort of ball of hardened rock, surrounded by fire, with a ghastly face on the front side. The fire emerging from the core looks very unnatural...

Jones shrugs. "It may be some kind of naturally type-shifted mon that adapted to the extremes of this place. That flame coming out of it doesn't really look natural to me. If you want to try catching it, be my guest. But if you don't succeed, I'm planning on trying my hand at it myself." Jones tucks the now marginally cooler urn into the crook of his arm, and readies his own pokeball. "Alright Digger, on my mark, hit it with a Sand Tomb." Digger tenses, and small sand particles begin to swirl around him in anticipation of the attack order.

Merchant hesitates no longer, pulling out a pokeball.
He throws it at the sleeping pokemon. On the plus side, it wouldn't wake it up, though it certainly would be a hard capture...

Merchant's ball sails past the fiery ghost, slamming into the wall behind it. Meanwhile, Stefan feels the unnatural binding of Mean Look wearing off of his body.

"Now!" At Jones' command, Digger opens his mouth, spraying the sleeping creature with a blast of sand [result]11&11,1d20,0,11&1d20[/result] [result]26&4:2,2d6,20,26&2d6+20[/result] that seems to try to stick to the fiery orb.
