Theme Music is now mandatory

The air grows more humid the further into the tunnel one moves, heated to the point that the walls themselves seem to melt... giving way to solid steel. Five minutes into it, the passage widens out like a fan, opening immensely into a chamber that seems straight out of a volcanic temple.

The clay-brick architecture exists only on the ground, which feels much more dense when one walks on it. Six immense stone spikes carve out an invitation to those who wish to wander around this chamber, maybe hoping to get burned? The chamber itself stretches back immensely far, appearing to occupy one whole slice of the pyramid. The wall behind the group rises straight up, but the back wall in this chamber, as far as the group can see, slants at a sharp angle to meet the other wall behind them.

Occupying the rest of this chamber appears to be a village-sized conglomerate of melted architecture! Regardless of the origin, this whole place looks like a molten city. There are even small lava pools dotting the ground around the entrance to this place, a connect-the-dots puzzle of melted rock surrounding a dead steel city... this place is truly intimidating, but a fit place to adventure for the hardier explorer.

The realization connects another link in Stefan's mind, though he knows he isn't seeing the whole picture yet. He speaks up as he climbs in behind Jones, not quite as deftly or with such gusto.

"I read a book on slugma once. Pretty boring, but they tend not to leave their lava pools. At all. Keep an eye on them, if they start moving away from the lava, there's something very wrong."

He wasn't sure if here was any relevance to them being partially out already. Perhaps they were curious or wary of the humans. Surely they had to leave their lava pools sometimes?

"Be careful. There's probably a lot more of them then what we see."

"And now we're both basically trapped in an enclosed space with something that may be powerful enough to make Slugma leave their magma pool. Forgive me if this doesn't make me giddy with glee." Jones is looking around the interior of the building. Is there anything her that isn't completely slagged down and could potentially be taken back to the main camp?

"My concern is that its the opposite. That most of the Slugma are still in the lava and that any second they might come bursting up to incinerate us. If it weren't for that possibility, I'd be trying to provoke them into leaving the pool. In any case, you're right. Let's move on."

Stefan edges back to the most accessible of the windows, prepared to call out Krieger or run as any potential developments might demand.

Jones spies an old urn in the corner... not much, but it was probably worth something at least.

As Stefan edges toward the window, he suddenly feels a hefty weight on his body! Nothing's fallen on him, but his entire body just feels weighted down by some otherworldly force... (Stuck and Trapped)

Once that happens, the Slugma begin yelping in low voices, quickly exiting the lava pool toward unoccupied directions...

Stefan shouts in surprise as the weight presses down on him, shifting his stance to bear the weight of. . . nothing? Yet he can feel it, pushing down on his shoulders and wrapping around his leg.

"I guess you were right again, Jones."

All he can manage is to call out Krieger. If there is time enough, he'll have Krieger use Harden in anticipation.

Jones makes a grab for the urn he's just spotted, covering his hands with his sleeves to keep himself from possibly being burned by the heat of the thing. "Digger, be ready. Sand Tomb on any aggressive attackers!" The Trapinch's affirmative noise is half chirp, half growl.

Hmmm...it appears something is dangerous about the building.

Keeping his distance, decides to go scan the surrounding areas instead, staying close enough to the building to come should something interesting happen, but keeping a reasonable distance from the building and the slugma's, not wanting to set off the trap.

The Aron hardens, and Trapinch's attention is drawn toward the lava pool... where a bubble of fire ominously rises from the still lava, frightening the hell out of the nearby Slugma. The bubble turns to reveal a wide eyes and a big, gaping mouth...

Merchant is in luck! A ways from the dangerous building, his Meowth trots off into an opposing structure, coming back seconds later with a little sack in its mouth. The satchel is tied up incredibly tight...

Stefan momentarily forgets his struggle as the thing rises from the lava. Its nothing like anything he knows, and he can't help but consider that this might be the end of the line for him, so early into his journey. Not wanting to risk Krieger in a full test of strength, he tries to play it smart.

"Jones, I can't move, but you should get some distance. If you get out of here, make sure the merchant knows about this! Krieger, get close enough to Mud-Slap, but no closer!"

"Ah, good Cat. I will write it down on the tab."
Pulling out a sheet of paper out of seemingly nowhere, he makes a few unintelligble marks on it. The Meowth seems satisfied enough.

Hearing the sounds of yelling, Merchant runs to the noise. Perhaps not to help, but definitely to watch.

He comes back around to the window quickly.
"Cat, sleep!"
The Meowth can barely see up above the window, but nonetheless the coin on it's forehead lights up, sending a swhirling energy at the creature.
