Theme Music is now mandatory The air grows more humid the further into the tunnel one moves, heated to the point that the walls themselves seem to melt... giving way to solid steel. Five minutes into it, the passage widens out like a fan, opening immensely into a chamber that seems straight out of a volcanic temple. The clay-brick architecture exists only on the ground, which feels much more dense when one walks on it. Six immense stone spikes carve out an invitation to those who wish to wander around this chamber, maybe hoping to get burned? The chamber itself stretches back immensely far, appearing to occupy one whole slice of the pyramid. The wall behind the group rises straight up, but the back wall in this chamber, as far as the group can see, slants at a sharp angle to meet the other wall behind them. Occupying the rest of this chamber appears to be a village-sized conglomerate of melted architecture! Regardless of the origin, this whole place looks like a molten city. There are even small lava pools dotting the ground around the entrance to this place, a connect-the-dots puzzle of melted rock surrounding a dead steel city... this place is truly intimidating, but a fit place to adventure for the hardier explorer. The steam definitely sticks out, and for good reason; as Jones approaches, he spies the source, a volcanic hot spring in the middle of the park area! There are stairs downward at the bottom of the spring, about two meters down, but this stuff is hot... very hot. Jones feels a brush against the back of his leg, and turns to see ten Numel behind him. They stop when he stops. |

Jones jumps slightly, and then looks incredulously at the Numel. "Come on now, I can't be that interesting. Shoo you guys." He makes a couple of shooing motions, before inspiration strikes. Taking a quick moment to mark down the location of this hot spring, he reaches into his pack and pulls out the Bag-o-Treats, and reaches in for a handful of the little bits. He holds them out for the lead Numel to get a good sniff; and then rears back and throws them as far as he can. Hopefully it would grab their attention, and the variety of tastes and colors would keep it.

The Numel stare at the treats soaring overhead... and stare at Jones, long and hard, thinking about how to proceed next. OOC

Three of the Numel head for the treats, but seven still are enthralled with him... they look up at him expectantly, in a transient state of worship. |

Jones facepalms. "Of course. And I don't have nearly enough pokeballs to catch you all. If Merchant were here, he'd..." Jones trials off as an idea forms. "It's crazy. So crazy that it just might work. Alrighty, you guys want to follow me, then follow me!" With that, he begins heading towards the entrance, and from there, to the base camp, making sure that his movements are outrageous enough to keep the Numel enthralled. |

About half an hour of straight running later, Jones ducks out of the ruins, seven Numel in tow...

Jason walked into the chamber, his eyes looking around slowly trying to figure out where he needed to go to either to find the Hariyama or to find something worth money. Perception: [result]4&1:3,2d6,0,4&2d6[/result]-1 |

Jason's eyes must have rolled in two separate directions, because he trips over a dried Slugma and nearly falls face-first into a lava pool. Fortunately for him, it was only a tiny puddle, and he barely skirts it. Ultimately, he ends up taking a large paved road through a cluster of artsy-looking buildings. After turning a few corners through his blind trip, Jason finds himself at the edge of a larger lava pool, surrounded by a multitude of Slugma. |

Jason looked around and looked to the Slugma, raising an eyebrow. He didn't want to deal with him right now, so instead he walked around slowly, hoping to find something more worthwhile. Hopefully better Perception? [result]7&2:5,2d6,0,7&2d6[/result]-1 |
