Theme Music is now mandatory

As the staircase rises further up, the vines become more frequent, eventually sporting a few bulbs and flowers here and there, with the natural light glowing ever brighter. At the very top step, the claustrophobic walls immediately cease, and give way to a wondrous place: A veritable jungle in the top of the pyramid!

While the staircase is in a small clearing, most everything beyond a few meters is completely impossible to see through; all it is is brush and moss. The top of the pyramid (from the inside) is visible, and appears to be some kind of gigantic skylight, allowing the sun's rays to filter through to this natural setting. Scuttling through the brush, a heap of Bug Pokemon are visible from the get-go, but disappear as soon as they spot an intruder.

A thin path can be discerned from the stairs, but it is incredibly thin, only a few inches wide. Going through the path, one would still be cutting through most of the brush.

Reya falls to the ground with a thud with Bem barely getting out of the way. "What's this then," she asks Bem as she picks herself up. What could this be doing out here? It clearly didn't belong to any of the trees around here.

It's nothing special... just a dried up branch. It looks like it could pack a wallop, though.

Well it might prove useful. Reya takes it along and heads further in the forest. That apricorn had to be out there somewhere.

(42)

This brush is just too thick for spying through... the only thing they can do is blindly go forward.

(Some kinda Stealth: 18)

While walking forward absentmindedly swinging her arms, Reya pricks her hand on something. It stings a little, but she can't figure out what just stuck her.

"Ouch," Reya says rubbing the offending sting, "We ought to be more careful." Bem clearly disagrees, he is always careful. He takes another look around this time focusing a bit more, maybe picking up a stray thought somewhere(Telepath).

Reya hears giggling from very close by, and some kind of shaking. It sounds like a rain stick.

(Stealth 7)

She finally does see what it was that pricked her; a big yellow spike sticking out of the foliage, and a gleeful Maractus getting a quick laugh out of it.

A Maractus? Didn't they live in more arid climates? "That wasn't very nice," Reya decries. Still it hadn't tried to hurt her, just a bit of a lark. Her annoyance abates somewhat, "Just a question before you start off for some more entertainment but have you seen anything like this around here except gold in color," she asks holding forth an empty pokeball. She wasn't sure if the creature could understand her but it couldn't hurt to try and gather a local view.

The creature examines the ball... and gently slaps it out of Reya's hand with a giggle. Maybe a no.

Reya notices the Maractus is darker than the average one... and doesn't have the pink flowers they're known to, either. It resembles a mangrove more than a cactus.

Well, the Maractus clearly didn't have any manners and it likely didn't know anything about the apricorn either. With a sigh Reya retrieves the pokeball from where it had fallen, "If you want to play games this really isn't the way to seek them. You'd be better to try and play nice." Coming down from the lecture she recalls why she was here, "Well, thanks for the help anyway but I really do need to find that."

The Maractus tilts its head in confusion, like a curious child. It doesn't know that it's being scolded. It's having fun.
