Theme Music is now mandatory

As the staircase rises further up, the vines become more frequent, eventually sporting a few bulbs and flowers here and there, with the natural light glowing ever brighter. At the very top step, the claustrophobic walls immediately cease, and give way to a wondrous place: A veritable jungle in the top of the pyramid!

While the staircase is in a small clearing, most everything beyond a few meters is completely impossible to see through; all it is is brush and moss. The top of the pyramid (from the inside) is visible, and appears to be some kind of gigantic skylight, allowing the sun's rays to filter through to this natural setting. Scuttling through the brush, a heap of Bug Pokemon are visible from the get-go, but disappear as soon as they spot an intruder.

A thin path can be discerned from the stairs, but it is incredibly thin, only a few inches wide. Going through the path, one would still be cutting through most of the brush.

Redcap lets out a screech at seeing one of his enemies stolen before he could properly chastise it! He turns on the last Foongus, and lets loose a series of invectives in shroom-speak.

Stefan nods gravely, marching towards the lone remaining foongus. The stoic face morphs into a wicked grin, taking satisfaction in a private thought. He tries to shake the confidence of the mimic mushroom before unleashing a vicious attacker in a show of strength.

Merchant instinctually captures another Foongus. (15/Calm/Effect Spore/19 HP/1 Injury)

The other Foongus is not so lucky. With the icy power of Salz's fangs, the shroom's entire cap is ripped off painfully. It squeals and runs around, until passing out from the sheer pain.

Salz gulps the treat down. Tasty.

Redcap throws a fit! Stomping up and down so hard that he begins throwing off small puffs of spores! He really had wanted to be the one to beat those Foongus. "Hey, settle down!" After a few moments it's obvious that the Shroomish has no intention of doing so, and Jones sighs and recalls the mon. Groaning, Jones turns to Stefan and Merchant. "While Redcap may be a bit pissed, I appreciate the help. Did you guys find what we're looking for?"

With a squeak Dorath goes down in a heap, completely thrown off by that spook. Reya groans, couldn't anything she did with the Shuppet end well? She nabs him up before turning to the two timely figures. "Thanks for the help." She says a bit uncertainly still eying the de-cap-itated

Stefan shakes his head as the croconaw finishes off the plant. Hopefully it would recover eventually. He grins at Jones' question. He was genuinely proud thanks to the latest catch.

"Did I find something?!"

He recalls Salz and brings out the newest acquisition. . . the gilded dunsparce.

"Check it out! Gold AND strong. I still haven't come up with a good name for it though. . . " He shrugs and makes for the way they came. "Merchant got a Shiftry. What did you guys find down your path?"

Merchant grunts at the showing of the Golden Dunsparce, apparently a little jealous he couldn't get his greedy little hands on it.

"Merchant believes plantman can lead him to the golden Apricorns, but he will need a bit more time to train it."

Opening a Pokeball, the Shiftry is only given barely enough time to give a middle-leaf'd salute to all around before being returned.

Merchant picks up the Foongus ball and drops it in a small sack labled 'fungi' with a surprising number of pokeballs in it.

"That said, the forest inside is vast. Much more to explore."

Not waiting any longer, Merchant walks past, headed for the exit.

Jones grimaces. "We found what I'm pretty sure is the urinary tract. And a huge colony of pokemon called Binnacle. They live attached to stones, gall stones in this case, and a group of them formed a massive wall that blocks any forward movement. We tried to break it down, but before we broke all the way through, we found out that the wall was also a nursery for their young. We very nearly destroyed all of the colony's eggs before we caught ourselves." He shakes his head. "So you didn't find any Golden Apricorns at all? Damn. Without one of those, we can't get the apricorn ball we need to undo the lock made." Shaking his head once more, he turns and follows after Merchant.

Merchant pauses.

"Merchant may have to go destroy that as well then, should Merchant wake the Venesaur. Such a thing could be potentially life-threatening for the creature.

As well, Merchant doubts the Apricorn need even be made into a pokeball. It is unlikely that anything but the apricorn itself opens the pyramid unless it was created post-capture technology."
