Theme Music is now mandatory

As the staircase rises further up, the vines become more frequent, eventually sporting a few bulbs and flowers here and there, with the natural light glowing ever brighter. At the very top step, the claustrophobic walls immediately cease, and give way to a wondrous place: A veritable jungle in the top of the pyramid!

While the staircase is in a small clearing, most everything beyond a few meters is completely impossible to see through; all it is is brush and moss. The top of the pyramid (from the inside) is visible, and appears to be some kind of gigantic skylight, allowing the sun's rays to filter through to this natural setting. Scuttling through the brush, a heap of Bug Pokemon are visible from the get-go, but disappear as soon as they spot an intruder.

A thin path can be discerned from the stairs, but it is incredibly thin, only a few inches wide. Going through the path, one would still be cutting through most of the brush.

Jones considers the Foongus. How many of them are there?

Stefan snatches up the Apricorn, considering its unique appearance. Recalling both of his unleashed fighters, he calls over to Merchant.

"Well, that was quick. What now? Back the way we came? Look for another exit?"

Merchant shakes his head.

"The only other ways out are through the mouth or rear.
Merchant would not recommend either.

Merchant instead wishes to find more before leaving. Research of such things are valuable, and, now we have an insider."

Merchant opens up the newly caught pokeball and stands back, the Shiftry popping up on the ground.

"Merchant wishes to make a deal. Show us to more of these," Merchant points to the golden Apricorn.
"And Merchant will give you this, to keep."
Merchant holds up the shining seed he received from Stephen.

Stefan feels like they'd be incredibly lucky to find more of those particular apricorns, but says nothing as Merchant tries to persuade the recent capture.

There are three Foongus staring at Jones and Reya.

The prideful Shiftry crosses its arms. He refuses to help someone who hasn't impressed him. He seems to feel that the capture was lucky and unwarranted...

Merchant stares down the Shiftry.
Well...it was a pretty lucky hit.
"If you are not interested in trade, how would you wish to see Merchant's worth?
Defeating you in battle defeats the purpose of requesting assistance."

He opens up a Pokeball, releasing Meganium, and hands the seed to it.
Perhaps if greed isn't enough motivation, envy will be a bit moreso.

Stefan scoffs. This Shiftry hadn't been interested in a fair fight, lurking off the ground and firing from cover. Now he was going to be prideful?

He steps forward, brandishing a pokeball.

"Listen, you! Merchant would give you a good life, a comfortable one. If you want a fight, I'll give you one, but I don't think you're ready for that kind of pain."

Jones looks back to Reya. "What do you think, think we can take all of them on?"

Well it looks like Stephan must have turned back. He didn't seem the type to leave pokémon laying about. "We probably could..." Reya says with a hint of reservation, not so much for their chances but for the innocent mushrooms.

(Shiftry Focus: 15)

Shiftry doesn't flinch from Stefan's added words. Even with the challenge to its pride, it doesn't even seem interested in battling, only defending; a battle which it has already lost. Maybe given time, it will cool down.

The Foongus are on edge and ready to attack the two. Given the other two people they've had to deal with today, it must be warranted. (Speed 2)
