Theme Music is now mandatory As the staircase rises further up, the vines become more frequent, eventually sporting a few bulbs and flowers here and there, with the natural light glowing ever brighter. At the very top step, the claustrophobic walls immediately cease, and give way to a wondrous place: A veritable jungle in the top of the pyramid! While the staircase is in a small clearing, most everything beyond a few meters is completely impossible to see through; all it is is brush and moss. The top of the pyramid (from the inside) is visible, and appears to be some kind of gigantic skylight, allowing the sun's rays to filter through to this natural setting. Scuttling through the brush, a heap of Bug Pokemon are visible from the get-go, but disappear as soon as they spot an intruder. A thin path can be discerned from the stairs, but it is incredibly thin, only a few inches wide. Going through the path, one would still be cutting through most of the brush. The two trainers carve through the brush, Merchant heading the way... who runs into a nice firm oak tree. This thing is tall, easily ten meters, but up at the top, next to the Sigilyph is their prize! A shiny golden Apricorn dangles from a thick branch at the top of the oak! Jones and Reya retrace their steps and head down the other passage, but are stopped by the river of crimson fluid. A nice jump is all that's required to make it across. |

"There it is. . . ." Stefan sizes up the tree. That would be an ugly climb, even for a threaded Pokemon. He calls up to Passat. "Okay. Bring it down gently now." The mystical avian reaches out to the apricorn through telekinesis, testing its weight before attempting to carry it down. Stefan, grip on Gram again, keeps an eye out for trouble. Passat has a Focus rank and effective Power of 5 Stefan Perception [result]14&1:2:5:5,4d6,1,14&4d6+1[/result] |

Merchant watches as the apricorn is being brought down, and starts to climb up the tree in order to get a better view of the forest around him. It certainly couldn't be healthy for this giant to have a river of blood flowing through it. Reya makes an effort to hop across. Athletics [result]12&6:5,2d6,1,12&2d6+1[/result] |

There isn't much for Merchant to climb up, so he only makes it a few feet up the tree, barely catching a glimpse above the canopy. For what it's worth, they're still in the Venusaur, but in some far away section from where they were before. He can't really tell. It might be brush that grew inside the saur once it began decomposing. Finding the weight of the Apricorn to be acceptable, Passat plucks the golden ball from its branch and begins pulling it down... but the drifting Apricorn is met with a lightning-fast fist of leaves grabbing it from above, preventing it from being pulled further down. Reya and Jones easily make it across the crimson river. The path ahead is the same single husk and small tunnel the other two have passed through. |
