Theme Music is now mandatory

As the staircase rises further up, the vines become more frequent, eventually sporting a few bulbs and flowers here and there, with the natural light glowing ever brighter. At the very top step, the claustrophobic walls immediately cease, and give way to a wondrous place: A veritable jungle in the top of the pyramid!

While the staircase is in a small clearing, most everything beyond a few meters is completely impossible to see through; all it is is brush and moss. The top of the pyramid (from the inside) is visible, and appears to be some kind of gigantic skylight, allowing the sun's rays to filter through to this natural setting. Scuttling through the brush, a heap of Bug Pokemon are visible from the get-go, but disappear as soon as they spot an intruder.

A thin path can be discerned from the stairs, but it is incredibly thin, only a few inches wide. Going through the path, one would still be cutting through most of the brush.

Krieger doesn't react very much to the doduo pecking about its joints, removing some excess armor that was slowing him down. Nor does he react much to the massive mimic's physical assault. The Mega Drain irritates him but not enough to lose focus on his quarry.

Stefan keeps an eye on Merchant's bird, noticing it get poisoned. He didn't know how much longer the fight would last, but he owed a favor. No point wasting resources yet, though.

He gets a little closer and leers at the giant Amoonguss again before using Gram to fire a blast of shimmering shards at the weakened Foongus.

Reya is glad that Honesledge decided to stick with Jones. It seemed expend a bit of frustration on the wall. "Good job there" Reya releases Bem and Neres to help out. Each releases a more insubstantial burst of power.

Foongus D can't suffer the Aerial Ace alone, and falls. KO!

Foongus E is shot at, but not nearly hurt enough for capture; the ball merely rolls off of its face. It responds by taking its aggression out on Krieger!

Foongus E's Mega Drain on Krieger: [result]17&17,1d20,0,17&1d20[/result] [result]26&4:1,2d6,21,26&2d6+21[/result]
Foongus F moves toward Stefan to defend the leader and uses Poisonpowder! [result]12&12,1d20,0,12&1d20[/result] AC6

The big Amoonguss focuses, and blasts some liquid at Krieger! It's similar to the acid it was just bathing in...
Corrosive Toxic: [result]14&14,1d20,0,14&1d20[/result] AC6, if hit Krieger is Badly Poisoned (even though he's Steel!)

The combined efforts of Jones and Reya's Pokemon make a bit of headway from the wall. They do begin to hear a low rumble... which turns into a full-on wail of pain. Even Merchant and Stefan can hear it from where they're at.

"STOP! ALL OF YOU FOR THE LOVE OF MEW STOP!" Jones is panicking, just a bit. Does the wail of pain seem to be coming from the 'Saur around them, or from the wall itself?

With only a few Foongus' left, Merchant continues attempting to subdue the smaller ones.

Meganium tosses up a wall of light around the group!

<Reflect. Three uses that anyone can expend. When hit by a physical move, resist it one step further.
Preferably use it when needed.>

Krieger roars as the corruption ravages his body. He responds by slamming his face into the enemy.

Stefan ignores the poisonous attack, protected once again by his mask. He hurls another great ball at the aberrant Pokemon.

Merchant snares another Foongus for himself. (13/Serious/Effect Spore/33 HP/1 Injury)

The big Amoonguss roars in pain, and is getting desperate. Its lone remaining guard is on edge.

Foongus F saps Krieger's energy! [result]9&9,1d20,0,9&1d20[/result] [result]23&1:1,2d6,21,23&2d6+21[/result]
Amoonguss uses another Body Slam, this time targeting Doduo! [result]4&4,1d20,0,4&1d20[/result] [result]55&6:10:9,3d12,30,55&3d12+30[/result]

The wailing doesn't sound like a Venusaur, or a massive Pokemon. This one seems to be coming from the wall itself.

Suddenly, about twenty more heads pop up from the top of the yellow wall. And they're all staring down at Jones, Reya, and their Pokemon.

Doduo narrowly jumps out of the way, slashing out with a claw as it does so at the remaining Foongus.
