Theme Music is now mandatory

As the staircase rises further up, the vines become more frequent, eventually sporting a few bulbs and flowers here and there, with the natural light glowing ever brighter. At the very top step, the claustrophobic walls immediately cease, and give way to a wondrous place: A veritable jungle in the top of the pyramid!

While the staircase is in a small clearing, most everything beyond a few meters is completely impossible to see through; all it is is brush and moss. The top of the pyramid (from the inside) is visible, and appears to be some kind of gigantic skylight, allowing the sun's rays to filter through to this natural setting. Scuttling through the brush, a heap of Bug Pokemon are visible from the get-go, but disappear as soon as they spot an intruder.

A thin path can be discerned from the stairs, but it is incredibly thin, only a few inches wide. Going through the path, one would still be cutting through most of the brush.

Barnaby watches as the others ascend into the bulb.

"Good luck down there lads! Bring back a trophy catch if you can!"

Merchant drops Meganium by the base of the flower as he studies it, contemplating the best way to make it bloom. Once he finishes, he watches the surroundings like a hawk for any pokemon that may be watching them or hiding nearby.

Meganium seems to be relaxed by the horde of spores, and its flower seems to grow much larger than normal.

Reya also makes the climb after Jones and Stephen although nowhere near as graceful as they.

Jones and Stefan make it up; with some assistance, Reya makes it in as well. As they get to the inside part of the bulb, a question is raised; what about the pillar that seemed to stick out of the bulb? A quick look upward reveals that the big pillar is actually being propelled upward by the blast of spores, balancing in the air at terminal velocity. That's a very strong blast.

There don't seem to be any Pokemon lurking nearby; they must know better than to hang around a stream of spores. Perhaps the best way to make this big boy bloom would be to replicate the effect of extreme sun... a Sunny Day maneuver, perhaps. Basically, exposure to lots of yummy light and sun energy.

Jones looks up at the pillar, and shakes his head. "And there's another reason not to seal that flap. No spores, and that thing would come down and crush us all." He ties the rope to the pillar as he'd intended before, and will slide down into the interior of the bulb, playing out hte rope behind him as hwe went.

Reya glances at the pillar, wouldn't tying a rope to a falling object cause issues. Nah, it would probably be fine. She likewise makes her way into the belly of the bloom.

Merchant, bored, begins to set up a digsight.

Might as well make some money while he waits, right?

Merchant digs up a fossil... a Weedle fossil.

Eh.

(Waiting for Stefan before introducing the inner-bulb scene proper)

Merchant scowls.

Well....whatever. Fossil is a fossil.

He sticks it in the animation machine.
