Theme Music is now mandatory

As the staircase rises further up, the vines become more frequent, eventually sporting a few bulbs and flowers here and there, with the natural light glowing ever brighter. At the very top step, the claustrophobic walls immediately cease, and give way to a wondrous place: A veritable jungle in the top of the pyramid!

While the staircase is in a small clearing, most everything beyond a few meters is completely impossible to see through; all it is is brush and moss. The top of the pyramid (from the inside) is visible, and appears to be some kind of gigantic skylight, allowing the sun's rays to filter through to this natural setting. Scuttling through the brush, a heap of Bug Pokemon are visible from the get-go, but disappear as soon as they spot an intruder.

A thin path can be discerned from the stairs, but it is incredibly thin, only a few inches wide. Going through the path, one would still be cutting through most of the brush.

Stefan merely watches, bemused. Perhaps Porcino could explain the situation a bit better?

No, that might be a bad idea. I don't know if Porcino's gotten used to domestic life yet. . . .

Perhaps this WAS some sort of attack. Group snuggle to death by exhaustion. A potentially brilliant hunting tactic.

Thinking quickly, the colonel drew a stick from the nearby brush and attempted to draw a sort of family tree. On the top, he drew the two Parasect. He then drew five Paras beneath them, and circled the entire bunch together.

"Family. They need your guidance for they are all alone in this jungle. Will you take them under your wing... claw... mushroom?"

The Parasect are a little closer to understanding... they move forward, and all the Paras (sans the Blue one) scatter next to the Parasect duo.

Looks like it's all good and dandy now, and the Blue Paras is ready to go. (12/Jolly/Tochukaso/Bug-Ground type/knows Sweet Scent/+2 to base HP)

(Also +1 to your TXP for a friendly capture!)

"Now that that's all settled, lets find something else!"

Stefan proceeds his usual wandering with his eyes open.

Stefan wanders... and wanders... blindly wanders.

(Encounter: 34)

Eventually, he wanders into a small grove with thinner trees than the surrounding area... and some Pineco dangling from the branches high above. They're about seven meters up over Stefan's head.

Stefan cranes his head back, glad he finally found something. He was already pretty clearly outdone by Sketchtail. Still, Pineco were a decent find. They evolved into a pretty solid steel Pokemon, something Stefan was keen on adding to his dex.

"See those? Don't let them fall on you. I'm about to knock a few down with one of my rookies."

He tucks Gram into his belt and makes sure he's not standing directly under any of them as he calls out Passat, his new sigilyph. . . Who starts things of with a Tailwind before effortlessly fluttering up to the wild creatures. . . .

The Pineco, fairly neutral and unassuming (and sedentary), do not react to this... maybe they think the weird bird will go away.

Perhaps this could be another relatively peaceful capture.

Passat uses Hypnosis on one of the pineco.

AC versus 6.

One of the Pineco fall asleep... and drop to the ground. The other four hanging from the trees don't seem to care.

Falling Damage: 17 (Focus: 11)

The Pineco looks pretty beat up, surprisingly, but it doesn't wake up from its sleep.

"Pssssst. Lad. Should I have the Sergent use False Swipe to lower its HP further?"
