Theme Music is now mandatory As the staircase rises further up, the vines become more frequent, eventually sporting a few bulbs and flowers here and there, with the natural light glowing ever brighter. At the very top step, the claustrophobic walls immediately cease, and give way to a wondrous place: A veritable jungle in the top of the pyramid! While the staircase is in a small clearing, most everything beyond a few meters is completely impossible to see through; all it is is brush and moss. The top of the pyramid (from the inside) is visible, and appears to be some kind of gigantic skylight, allowing the sun's rays to filter through to this natural setting. Scuttling through the brush, a heap of Bug Pokemon are visible from the get-go, but disappear as soon as they spot an intruder. A thin path can be discerned from the stairs, but it is incredibly thin, only a few inches wide. Going through the path, one would still be cutting through most of the brush. Hook and line. Only one last thing to do. Barnaby took off his glasses and held them up to the blue Paras on his arm, showing its reflection. He then tilted it down to reflect off of the ones circling below. "You're a very unique specimen, little lad, unique amongst your brethren. Perhaps the only one in this ruins, nay, the world with your special traits! Your life is fated for greatness, no matter where you travel." The colonel rubbed the Paras's head for a bit, then tool out a great ball from his belt. "I am going on a wonderful journey throughout these ruins you call home. Through the thickest jungles, the deepest seas, and the wonders and terrors this temple holds. But I cannot take the journey alone, everyone needs help after all. Will you do me the honor and be my traveling companion?" "We will do many great things together, I can guarantee the excitement of adventure wherever we go." |

The blue Paras is excited by the prospect... but hesitant to leave its friends, who have at this point crawled up to the Colonel's torso. As much as it wants to accompany the Colonel, it seems like it can't leave its Paras brethren in good faith. |

Oh dear god they're everywhere. Its like a walking pile of insectoid love! "Worried about how they'll do on their own? Hmm, that IS an odd predicament. Doesn't look like there's a single parent amongst the bunch of you! Hmm, what to do..." Under normal circumstances, the Colonel would seize the opportunity to take every one of them to keep the family together. However, on this unfortunate day he only had one pokeball on his person, so taking all six would be flat impossible. Unless he kept them without balls, but that too would provide many problems. Inadequate access to healing machines, and the Colonel's poor ability to maintain large amounts of pets alone. Then again, perhaps he didn't have to be the guardian of the other five. "I have an idea! We don't have to leave your friends all on their own. Surely you aren't the only Paras in the forest, as my friend has encountered many. Even Parasect that could act as parents and protectors! We could search around for a while to find another swarm of Paras and Parasect to keep your friends safe in your absence, and then you could come with me assured they will be safe and well." "How does that sound? Noone has to be left alone today." |

The Paras get some idea of what the Colonel is suggesting... it seems like they're on board - figuratively and literally. |

Stefan smiles warmly as he sees Barnaby's sheer, genuine love and kindness towards pokemon shine through. "Well, Barnaby, I have some extra pokeballs if that would be easier. Actually, I have eight." He also has a Parasect of his own, but doesn't think he's up to caring for all of the creatures. |

"Well, it would make a good backup plan if we can't find any more of their kin in the forest. Its worth a trip to look around though." "Sergent, you've seven mons worth of scents. Lets find them a family!" Sketchtail's Tracker: [result]13&1:5:5,3d6,2,13&3d6+2[/result] |

Sketchtail picks up a scent... A short walk through thin jungle later, Sketchtail leads the two Trainers and six crabs to two brown Parasect much like Porcino, who go about their business, scuttling about the dirt. |

Stefan sighs, and gestures towards the pair o'sect. "Well, I'm guessing we're just gonna leave them here in a big family and look elsewhere for Mythrel's pokemon?" |

"Perhaps. Or we could ask our blue friend if he's seen anything worthy of his gaze. But first, these mushroom mon are starting... to get... REALLY... heavy..." Barnaby falls over. Turns out carrying 60 pounds of Paras is rather exhausting. After a bit of lying down in the dirt, the Paras Bus crawls over to the two Parasect, then holds out one of the creatures. "Excuse me sir and or madame. My friend in blue is very worried about leaving his friends alone, and I lack the upper body strength to carry all of them. Would you like to be parents?" |

The Parasect look at the family Paras covering the Colonel... and they think he's under attack. They cheer gleefully at the carnage! |
