Theme Music is now mandatory

As the staircase rises further up, the vines become more frequent, eventually sporting a few bulbs and flowers here and there, with the natural light glowing ever brighter. At the very top step, the claustrophobic walls immediately cease, and give way to a wondrous place: A veritable jungle in the top of the pyramid!

While the staircase is in a small clearing, most everything beyond a few meters is completely impossible to see through; all it is is brush and moss. The top of the pyramid (from the inside) is visible, and appears to be some kind of gigantic skylight, allowing the sun's rays to filter through to this natural setting. Scuttling through the brush, a heap of Bug Pokemon are visible from the get-go, but disappear as soon as they spot an intruder.

A thin path can be discerned from the stairs, but it is incredibly thin, only a few inches wide. Going through the path, one would still be cutting through most of the brush.

Stefan is able to start climbing, bit by bit. Just a little more effort...

One of the Parasect is infected by the Smog attack, but they both attempt to get at the source. One attempts to paralyze it, while the other Parasect does something unexpected; it launches a blast of earth at Schlamm!

Almost there. . . With the parasect focusing on his new water pokemon, he realizes that the koffing won't last for long. He calls out for Krieger to approach the pit and use Iron Defense!

Jason looks to his pokedex at the message to see what's going on.

Stefan is finally able to hoist himself out of the pit, matching position with Krieger! As the Parasect see the Bulldoze have no effect on the Koffing, they both opt to try Paralysis again!

Parasect A Stun Spore on Schlamm: [result]18&18,1d20,0,18&1d20[/result]-3 AC11
Parasect B Stun Spore on Schlamm: [result]5&5,1d20,0,5&1d20[/result]-3 AC11

Jason gets an email!

Stefan pulls himself up, dusting off his pants as he turns back. The motion in the smoke is hard to see clearly, but the koffing was still floating, if somewhat lazily.

"Ready Krieger? Time to close the noose."

Stefan hurls a pokeball at one parasect with his standard action!
[result]7&7,1d20,0,7&1d20[/result]
[result]49&49,1d100,0,49&1d100[/result] -3

He then recalls Schlamm as a shift action, while activating Among Lesser Works to boost Krieger's defense a little more.

Krieger hurls himself downwards, attempting to Headbutt a parasect.

Athletics: [result]10&2:3:3,3d6,2,10&3d6+2[/result] (figured its necessary to jump down safely.)

Accuracy: [result]10&10,1d20,0,10&1d20[/result] -3, flinch on 15+.
Damage: [result]36&6:3,2d6,27,36&2d6+27[/result]

Looking to the email, Jason grits his teeth a little bit before taking a deep breath. He had other matters to attend to first...if the Makuhita were still there afterwards, he'll deal with them accordingly.

The toss is good... but sails just past the Parasect, the Koffing's smoke concealing them just as well as it hinders them. Krieger jumps down safely, and lands a nasty Headbutt on the Parasect taking the beating. The injured Parasect staggers, but stays on its many tiny feet, and both mushroom creatures fall on Krieger!

Parasect A Bulldoze on Krieger: [result]10&10,1d20,0,10&1d20[/result]-3 [result]42&6:2:4,3d6,30,42&3d6+30[/result]
Parasect B Stun Spore on Krieger: [result]4&4,1d20,0,4&1d20[/result]-3 AC11

A dull roar echoes from beyond the rock wall at Jason...

Stefan hurls another ball at the weaker target as the Aron shrugs off both attacks.

Aron will metal claw. The weaker one, if it hasn't been captured.

Capture

Hearing the roar, Jason allows the bandage to keep soaking in before getting up and stretching.

The ball once again misses... looks like that smoke is more of a hindrance at this rate. The injured Paras is on its last legs, but both are still on the offense!

Parasect A Stun Spore on Krieger: [result]18&18,1d20,0,18&1d20[/result]-3
Parasect B Bulldoze on Krieger: [result]5&5,1d20,0,5&1d20[/result]-3 [result]43&6:5:2,3d6,30,43&3d6+30[/result]

The dull roar continues... with no sign of stopping.
