Theme Music is now mandatory

As the staircase rises further up, the vines become more frequent, eventually sporting a few bulbs and flowers here and there, with the natural light glowing ever brighter. At the very top step, the claustrophobic walls immediately cease, and give way to a wondrous place: A veritable jungle in the top of the pyramid!

While the staircase is in a small clearing, most everything beyond a few meters is completely impossible to see through; all it is is brush and moss. The top of the pyramid (from the inside) is visible, and appears to be some kind of gigantic skylight, allowing the sun's rays to filter through to this natural setting. Scuttling through the brush, a heap of Bug Pokemon are visible from the get-go, but disappear as soon as they spot an intruder.

A thin path can be discerned from the stairs, but it is incredibly thin, only a few inches wide. Going through the path, one would still be cutting through most of the brush.

The koffing puffs angrily. The bug has sharp claws.

Seeing an opening, Stefan attempts another capture as Krieger pounces on the distracted bug.

As soon as the Makuhita's fist lands on the Boldore, the other two boulders begin stirring...

The Boldore takes the thrust in stride, barely cracked by the super-effective move. It retaliates by dashing at Makuhita for a cheap Headbutt! [result]13&13,1d20,0,13&1d20[/result] Flinch 15-20 [result]37&6:6,2d6,25,37&2d6+25[/result]

The lone Paras is captured easily! (13/Quirky/Dry Skin/35 HP)

The other Paras have all made it into the hole safely.

Stefan tucks away the paras quickly, then moves over to the hole. He was going to have to be creative.

Making sure not to get too close, he has the Koffing move over to the hole and begin expelling its smog in an attempt to fumigate the burrow.

Meanwhile, Krieger stands by,

The Koffing easily blows a load of smoke into the burrow... and the ground underneath begins to shake.

Suddenly, DOZENS of Paras pop out of random spots from under the ground, attempting to catch a fresh breath. A quick estimate shows about 30 Paras... and they all look scared of Stefan and his poison death ball.

Stefan feels a little bad for gassing out an entire community of such passive creatures. The feeling soon passes, though, when he realizes how many came to the surface, and what else might be down there. Realizing Schlamm needs a second to generate more gas, he orders Krieger to set Stealth Rocks among the nearest ones.

Frazier absorbed the blow and shifted his body to throw the giant rock onto the ground and then Jason ran up and threw a huge punch into the rock's side.

The set Stealth Rocks trigger almost immediately, slamming into many of the grouped Paras... crushing them. It seems like most of them were newborn. Another low rumble is heard from deeper down...

The first Boldore takes the Mach Punch easily, but the Vital Throw proves to be too much, and it falls back to the ground, inert. The other two Boldore begin moving, assaulting from the sides!
