Theme Music is now mandatory

The hole Jason carved with his fist forms a perfectly circular entryway into a deeper galley of the pyramid...

Oddly enough, a staircase descends into the room at the exact level of the Claydol carving's face. Those who step through are greeted with a monstrous chamber more regal than one would expect from an ancient civilization; gold and silver glyphs decorate the stone floor molding, and beautiful lanterns seem to replace the primitive torches from before. The room is essentially a trapezoid, with the ceiling a tad smaller than the floor. There are three large entryways into rooms of varying colors.

To the left, there is a large metal archway with red runes painted on it. It seems a bit melted around the edges.

To the right, two marble pillars surround an entryway with blue reflections adorning the ceiling, sparkling like an ocean.

In the back of the room, there appears to be an entryway up as well. A spiral staircase seems to ascend into the entryway, which drips with vines and seemingly natural light.

In the center of the room is a small hole, an entrance that looks like a sewer pipe. It has a ladder down bolted to the back.

((This is essentially a hub room, so feel free to split off to whichever way suits your fancy!))

"You have one more chance."

The Chikorita seems freaked out at the added pressure, and sends one more burst at the claydol and one of the spinning baltoy.

BOSS INITIATIVE

Stefan backs away from the intimidating Claydol, not wanting to get hit by the rocks. He notes the move, however. So far the creature hadn't used anything Krieger would be weak against, but he didn't want to take any chances. Before shifting away, he hurls a ball at one of the baltoy.

As he retreats to Krieger's side, he orders Porcino in again. The parasect fumes as the psychic behemoth shrugs off his last attack, and strikes again with galvanized anger and purpose.

Jones watches the attack fly waaaaaaaaaaay over his head in slight disbelief that anything with that many eyes can have that bad an aim. As he's contemplating this, Moby once again rocks forward, unleashing a series of razor-sharp leaves at the Claydol.

"Merchant does not like the spinning tops!"

The cloaked man tosses a ball at the left over baltoy and then runs farther back, not trusting them.

OOC

Chiko's leaves are reflected once more, but the Fury Cutter and Moby's leaves hit spot-on. Both balls capture the spinning tops, but the balls shake violently in addition to the already-shaking ones.

Both attacks on the Claydol leave giant gashes in its solid exterior, the first one cracking, and the second one breaking through its hide! A giant piece of pottery-like flesh falls off of the Claydol, revealing a core of brimming, psychadelic energy inside. The energy, no longer being contained by its body, flashes outward in a blinding fury! (Focus check of DC10 for everyone, otherwise take one Injury)

After what seems like minutes, the light finally settles, and everyone is able to see. The Claydol is no longer there. The four Poke Balls that had Baltoy in them are gone; however, where there was a ball, there are a few treasures! They include a Razor Claw, a Big Root, a King's Rock, and an Iron Ball. In addition, a variety of shards are scattered about the field! (Roll 1d4+X, X being either Edu:Petrology or Survival)

EXP

The field is clear. The door to the Antechamber is open.

Merchant makes a clicking noise as he picks up the two items that sat where his once was. A large iron ball and a root...
Well, he'd hunt down a baltoy later.

Merchant then goes about the remnants of where the claydol was, looking for anything he can use as a genetic sample.

Afterwards he begins to pick over the area, gathering up the energized shards, and kicking himself for not trying to capture one of those strange Baltoy...

The only pathway Stefan is unfamiliar with lies in the center of the room; the sewer-like entrance to the Pipe Works that the golem once covered. Otherwise, all other exits are intact.

Merchant finds a nice, big shard of Claydol pot-flesh.

Merchant pockets the tissue sample. This would be useful for later.
He does take note of the new exit, but with his shards and items pocketed he doesn't stick around.

"Problem solved."

Merchant leaves to go to Fir's tent and present the tissue sample, claim his reward...and perhaps see what kind of money Fir would cash out for a clone of the massive creature...
