The behemoth pyramid stretches nearly fifty meters tall, with a long set of stairs climbing up the south side. From a distance, one can spy a good deal of light glistening in the stone hallway leading to the antechamber of the pyramid. Within minutes of setting foot on the clay stones that form the ground, the chattering of researches and gloating of treasure hunters fills any daring adventurer's ears.

The antechamber itself is stocked full of tents and lanterns, as well as the people who brought them. A research team of 50 people has decided to set up a base camp right in the mouth of the Clay Pyramid; close enough to tell the light of day, yet far enough into the stonework to feel overwhelmed by the tall tunnel they call home. A number of archaeologists have been painstakingly examining the Pokemon carvings that adorn the walls of the antechamber, while some of the laborers are taking an early break from clearing out the space for living. Lanterns are placed evenly around the chamber, and generators for laptops and machines are scattered about less frequently. From the wall opposite of the entrance, a massive set of stone double doors nearly 10 meters tall casts an ominous gaze on the whole party of researchers.

In the center of the base camp, a sign has been affixed to the ground, reading: "Explorers Needed! See Inside", pointing a large tent to the left. Rife, hearty laughter can be heard from inside.

Jones moves forward to get a better look, though he's still being careful of potential traps or other finds.

With no traps in front of the stand, the archaeologist observes the stand as sort of primitive sign... it's written in easily-identified Unown script.

Jones frowns for a bit... before his eyes brighten. "Well, it seems I may have been completely wrong about those Claydol signs. One way to interpret this would be that any of the claydol symbols that glow red never lie. They're "true". Which means that if you take down a torch and the symbol doesn't glow, then it's lying. As in, false. Or to make it more clear, a false wall." He looks around the stand. Does the hall that the group is in dead-end here?

The stand continues on for a few meters, and does indeed end! A large carving of a Claydol surrounded by many tiny Baltoy adorns the end wall, and two torches are placed in grooves carved into where the Claydol's cannons would be.

Jason simply watched to see what all the archeologists will say about the giant Baltoy and smaller ones around. He knew what was going on...or at least he thought he did and he was ready for some action if that did happen.

Merchant was nervous. The entrance to places such as these were the *most* likely place for deadly traps.
This didn't just scream 'trap', it climbed a mountaintop and yodele'd it for the world to hear.

"Cat, ready."
His Meowth, still licking the zubat blood from it's hand, seems unconcerned either way.

Jones frowns as he studies the carving. "Hmmm, there is another possibility here... Stefan, would you please go back to that torch you pulled down, and do so again? I have another theory, and I'd like to test that one first." Jones is watching the mural on the dead end like a hawk.

Stefan nods. They're making progress, and if there was going to be danger, he was the best to provoke it.

"Just give me a shout if you see what you expect. . . Or in case of giant scary tomb guardians."

With that, he returns to the torch he took earlier and once again tampers with it. This time with Jones' blessing.

Jones is still watching the mural. Is there any sort of reaction from it? Any of the Baltoy around the Claydol lighting up, anything like that?

The carving illuminated by the torch glows crimson once more. The mural at the end of the hallway, however, doesn't react to the displaced torch down the hall from it...
