The behemoth pyramid stretches nearly fifty meters tall, with a long set of stairs climbing up the south side. From a distance, one can spy a good deal of light glistening in the stone hallway leading to the antechamber of the pyramid. Within minutes of setting foot on the clay stones that form the ground, the chattering of researches and gloating of treasure hunters fills any daring adventurer's ears.

The antechamber itself is stocked full of tents and lanterns, as well as the people who brought them. A research team of 50 people has decided to set up a base camp right in the mouth of the Clay Pyramid; close enough to tell the light of day, yet far enough into the stonework to feel overwhelmed by the tall tunnel they call home. A number of archaeologists have been painstakingly examining the Pokemon carvings that adorn the walls of the antechamber, while some of the laborers are taking an early break from clearing out the space for living. Lanterns are placed evenly around the chamber, and generators for laptops and machines are scattered about less frequently. From the wall opposite of the entrance, a massive set of stone double doors nearly 10 meters tall casts an ominous gaze on the whole party of researchers.

In the center of the base camp, a sign has been affixed to the ground, reading: "Explorers Needed! See Inside", pointing a large tent to the left. Rife, hearty laughter can be heard from inside.

Stefan glances between the two targets as Krieger runs interference. He couldn't bring them both down, they were too fast. His 'dex had informed him that his capture could not flinch, so that wasn't a solution. . . and by the time he switched to Donner, they'd have surely made an escape.

Well, we'd better take down at least one of them.

The combined attack causes the Zubat to fall to the ground, ceasing its flight. KO!

The other Zubat, realizing it is the only one left, attempts to fly off down the hallway!

Stefan recalls Krieger and breathes a sigh of relief. A small part of him wants to give chase. . . but the rest of his parts are battered and weary. He stumbles back towards camp.

Jones looks up from where he's been making introductions, and stands quickly once he sees Stefan stumble back in. "Arceus Above man, what the hell happened to you?!" The Krabby at his feet sees the man and hisses, before receiving a gentle rap on the carapace from Digger and a small warning growl. Inferno snickers at his new teammate's chastisement as Jones hurries forward to offer assistance.

Merchant, satisfied at his new collection, decides to head to see how much a Krabby goes for nowadays in the kitchen.
Mmmm...he hadn't had crab in a while.

Merchant walks into the food tent to see a stout, overweight man toiling over a pot of something or other.

He looks up at Merchant, a tout frown hiding under his thin mustache. "No more food today, go scrounge leftovers."

"Merchant wants to know if the Head Chef might be tired of cooking the same old thing, and might be interested in something harder to come by.
Perhaps...two, live, full Krabbys? Should feed a good few, or perhaps, one person for a while..."

The Chef looks up from his pot once more, raising an eyebrow.

"You found these in the water? In the Pyramid?" He makes a throaty noise of slight interest, and opens his hands to take the two Krabby. "I take. You come back tomorrow, bring your friends."

Merchant nods his head and hands them over.

"Yes. Merchant will bring two people. Looks forward to it."

The shady man hands them over before walking out, off to find Fir.
