The behemoth pyramid stretches nearly fifty meters tall, with a long set of stairs climbing up the south side. From a distance, one can spy a good deal of light glistening in the stone hallway leading to the antechamber of the pyramid. Within minutes of setting foot on the clay stones that form the ground, the chattering of researches and gloating of treasure hunters fills any daring adventurer's ears.

The antechamber itself is stocked full of tents and lanterns, as well as the people who brought them. A research team of 50 people has decided to set up a base camp right in the mouth of the Clay Pyramid; close enough to tell the light of day, yet far enough into the stonework to feel overwhelmed by the tall tunnel they call home. A number of archaeologists have been painstakingly examining the Pokemon carvings that adorn the walls of the antechamber, while some of the laborers are taking an early break from clearing out the space for living. Lanterns are placed evenly around the chamber, and generators for laptops and machines are scattered about less frequently. From the wall opposite of the entrance, a massive set of stone double doors nearly 10 meters tall casts an ominous gaze on the whole party of researchers.

In the center of the base camp, a sign has been affixed to the ground, reading: "Explorers Needed! See Inside", pointing a large tent to the left. Rife, hearty laughter can be heard from inside.

Stefan grunts in acknowledgment. Merchant was right.

"Also found an old mirror. And Jason. He must have an interesting story."

Seeing how oblivious the Pokemon are, he joins in, simply lobbing a ball at one of the creatures.

Everyone was throwing pokeballs at the Numel...it didn't seem like a bad idea...something to get his spirits back up at least.

Jones considers for a moment. "Well... that Sunflora's a lot tougher than the Paras is... I'd be willing to trade you him for one of the Krabby you caught."

Merchant shifts through his bags and inspects a handful of balls.

"This one is unhurt."

Jones takes a pokeball off of his belt. "I managed to capture this Paras with minimal difficulty, so he's uninjured as well."

Merchant swaps the pokeballs.

"Merchant also still has a Cyndaquil for trade for any potential typeshifts. The offer remains open."

Jones considers, then shakes his head. "While tempting, I think I'll stick with Inferno. Think you can repair this for me though?" He pulls out the pieces of a broken pokeball.

"Merchant was referring to the flower should you not wish to keep it. But it will be open indefinitely to any shifts."

Merchant looks at the ball and nods.

"Yes. 100 Pyen."

He picks up the other two broken balls as well and pulls out his RepairKit, and begins to tinker to fix them up.

And if he accepts the price:
