The behemoth pyramid stretches nearly fifty meters tall, with a long set of stairs climbing up the south side. From a distance, one can spy a good deal of light glistening in the stone hallway leading to the antechamber of the pyramid. Within minutes of setting foot on the clay stones that form the ground, the chattering of researches and gloating of treasure hunters fills any daring adventurer's ears.

The antechamber itself is stocked full of tents and lanterns, as well as the people who brought them. A research team of 50 people has decided to set up a base camp right in the mouth of the Clay Pyramid; close enough to tell the light of day, yet far enough into the stonework to feel overwhelmed by the tall tunnel they call home. A number of archaeologists have been painstakingly examining the Pokemon carvings that adorn the walls of the antechamber, while some of the laborers are taking an early break from clearing out the space for living. Lanterns are placed evenly around the chamber, and generators for laptops and machines are scattered about less frequently. From the wall opposite of the entrance, a massive set of stone double doors nearly 10 meters tall casts an ominous gaze on the whole party of researchers.

In the center of the base camp, a sign has been affixed to the ground, reading: "Explorers Needed! See Inside", pointing a large tent to the left. Rife, hearty laughter can be heard from inside.

The caravan master, hidden behind a sun hat and sunglasses, looks down at Jones from atop his Tauros.

"Let me guess your angle... you're gonna try and sell me the seven college professors behind you." He points at the Numel, who have scattered about the camp in disinterested saunters. "You really think those shambling geniuses are better than my stout Tauros? You gotta be joking." The caravan master slaps his Tauros affectionately, who lets out a dull moo.

Jones shakes his head. "Better, no; but they would be very useful to you. Not likely to panic, and so long as their loadouts also kept their magma chambers dry, they'd be able to go on for days; you'd just need a rope halter and something on a string or wire in front of their faces to kep them occupied and going in the right direction. And while your Tauros is no doubt a mighty beast, these gents here are perfectly suited for crossing mountainous terrain with minimal difficulty; which would allow you to expand your operations wouldn't it?"

The caravan master, a tall dark-skinned man towering over Jones, looked down on him with no pity. "Do I look like I'm going to Blackthorn, son? No, I'm in the middle of a damn forest. Those things are inbred morons, waitin' to burn down the woods surrounding this place." He cracks his knuckles. "My Tauros get the job done. I don't need no two-foot-nothing fire camels to do their work for them."

Jones holds up his hands in a placating gesture. "Alright sir, I made my pitch, you turned it down, no need to get testy. I'm sorry we couldn't do business together, but that is ultimately your choice. I apologize for taking up your time."

The caravan man glares at Jones before returning to his work.

The Numel wander about the campsite, looking for meager entertainment...

Jones looks over at Fir, and rubs the back of his neck with a sheepish smile. "Eheheh, sorry. You said that you'd be able to find some way to make use of them though? If so, I'll help you round them up and then head back into the ruins."

Fir is kind of dumbfounded at the situation before him.

"I... just... leave them here. We'll do something." He goes over to some of the Numel, just staring them down. His hat catches their interest, and they gather around him.

Jones make a hasty and discreet exit while the Numel are distracted; and heads for the greenhouse.

Jones limps into the camp looking like he's gone ten rounds with a Lucario. He heads directly for the research tent. "Oi, Fir! Got some things you may be interested in taking a look at."
