The 'team' you travel with actually seemed to make the world more alive. The characters themselves were a bit flat, but I loved the idea. Helped the head-canon I was writing for my character.
I agree. I kinda liked the return to the kiddy roots, a kid and some friends being childish together. Their constant appearances also helped it seem more like they were actually travelling with you and not just randomly present. The characters definitely needed a bit more work to really be likable and not just . . . there. They tried so hard to make the Fighting Leader a recurring character, but then the others were only existent when you waltzed to their gym. That was a big step back from BW, in which I felt like the Leaders were actually pivotal parts of their community.

Do Trick or Treat and Forest Curse override each other? Because if not...

Send out Trevenant, Houndoom and Gourgeist.

Use Forest Curse and Trick or Treat on Houndoom, Houndoom becomes Dark/Fire/Ghost/Grass, only weak to Flying.

Recall Trevenant and Gourgeist, send out Shedinja and Carbink.

Use Skill Swap on Shedinja, Carbink now has Wonder Guard.

Use Skill Swap on Houndoom. Houndoom now is immune to everything but Flying.

Unless they changed something, Skill Swap doesn't work on something with Wonder Guard.

Trick or treat and forest curse replace type, they don't add them. Can't ever have more than two types regardless.
So sorry, no luck on that :P
Honestly soakshedinja works well enough anyway.

Slight correction: They replace the 2nd type, so a single-type pokémon wouldn't lose their existing type, so a Pikachu for example would be Electric/Grass or Electric/Ghost after hit by Forest Curse or Trick or Treat, respectively.

Edit: Wait, according to Bulbapedia, Forest's Curse adds Grass as a 3rd type if the pokémon is dual-type already. Might be wrong, but if it's not, that's an interesting idea....though Wonder Guard still can't be Skill Swapped.

Edit 2: And research proof on Trick or Treat's discussion page shows proof that the type is simply added, and does not replace existing types, with examples such as a Fletchling or Pidgey being immune to Shadow Sneak, weak to Discharge, and weak to Night Slash after being hit by the move.

So...
According to an elite hacker, three new event legendaries have been discovered, as well as two new Mega Evolutions. The event legendaries are called Hoopa, Diancie and Volcanion, and the two Pokémon whose mega evolutions have been discovered (supposedly, we can't take it as real yet, but it's a possibility), are Latios and Latias.
Here are Images for the Eon Twins' supposed Megas:
Spoiler: click to toggle

A couple of notes: The Megas for the eon twins look VERY similar, except that Latios has red eyes, while Latias has yellow eyes. Secondly, the Icon for Megas probably doesn't appear because he hacked them to appear in the wild.
I, personally, am very excited to see if this is true, and if it is I'll explode with joy (because Latias is my favourite Pokémon)

The three legendaries were linked in the shoutbox. I fished out the link to post the image in here.

How could we possibly be offended, now that you specified no offense.

...Tbh, I can totally see some guy who was really bored just spriting those things up; it might be difficult, but with enough effort...
That said, if they are real, the Lati twins are guaranteed uber-tier in competitive...which isn't that bad, considering I love Latios, both conceptually, artistically and stat-wise (yes, that's 3 things; deal, Homeskillet.)
