Chespin! Why? What have they done to you!? They made you into a pinata! It's Tepig all over again!

I'll still choose it. I'm sure it's final evolution will at least be a giant ball of spiky pain that I can use to Indiana Jones my enemies.

So... according to this, Fairy is Super Effective on Fighting, Dark and Dragon and not effective on Fire, Poison or Steel. It also states that it is weak to Poison and Steel while resists Fighting, Dark and Bug. It is immune to Dragon. Suddenly I am perfectly fine with Charizard not being dragon-typed.

Chespin's second evo... is just... what.
Chespin's 2nd made me smile! because of how silly it is.

Also from the new leaks, Steel is no longer resistant to Ghost or Dark.

... ...

METAGROSS
BRONZONG

This makes Bronzong much less evil, but it makes Metagross, my favorite pokémon, a bit less good. I am saaad.

So we now have the startings of a Witch (with a broom and everything), the ninja-esque froakie, and....a chestnut.

Well at least they're committed to the theme.

I was originally leaning towards Chespin, despite having a tradition of always using the water-starters. Mostly, it was because Froakie looked so underwhelming, and I didn't really know where they could go with the frog concept that I'd like.

Well, I like Froakie again.

Regarding Steel and Dragon. Well, they're two of my favorite types, so of course I could whine about the nerfs. I think they should have implemented another type for steel to be effective in in terms of offense.

Reads back up.

Well, damn. Turns out the hard counter to Dragon is in turn countered by Steel. I like that news, and giving their shiny new type a weakness to one of the least common offensive types should certainly spice things up.
