I don't think you can really assume anything as fact about the new region yet as only a few pokemon have been shown. Also saying "they definately have stopped mking new evos" is bullshit, because Sylveon exists
I did not say defiantly. I said "I think". As in an opinion. Calm down.

Sylveon is the new evolution to be revealed thus far. With the hype of Fairy type, I can see why they chose Sylveon to show case it. However, I find it suspicious they haven't even hinted at any other new additions to old families. I don't have proof, just a hunch. Feel free to rub my nose in it if I'm wrong.
I agree, since they haven't shown off or even hinted at any new (pre)evos that aren't Sylveon, it seems that there are trying to minimize the use of new (pre)evolutions to existing pokémon, if not eliminate them entirely (with Sylveon being the exception). There hasn't exactly been time for this to be a trend, but it does seem likely that this is the case with genVI.

Gen 5 used new york city as a base (North America), and some of the new pokemon and their evolutions were distinctly North American: Patrat, cubchoo, bouffalant, rufflet, vullaby, and to an extent oshawott, cottonee, maractus, zorua. (some of these could be argued whether they support my argument or not, and there were many that aren't from North America, that's not the point, just that some distinctively were)

Since gen 6 is using paris/france (Europe) as a base, I'm curious if there will be any distinctively European pokemon to go along with the game. Our new water starter might end up being a light example with its skinny frog legs, but that alone wouldn't equal the 'potential' trend, others would be needed.

Sylveon, soooooooooooooo
I'll repeat it one more time. I've already acknowledged Sylveon's existence. I've also pointed out the lack of hints of any new Evo or Prevos of existing families. I'm saying I think they are avoiding adding new Pr/evos. Sylveon already debunks they are completely abandoning new Evos (new Eeveelutions are welcome in my eyes), but there is a distinct lack of any other modifications to existing lines, hinted, leaked or revealed. Sylveon exists, there is at least one new Evolution to an old line. Its all other lines, who are in need of a new addition, is what I'm talking about.

I'll just say that if they decided to not add any pre-evos or new evos to old pokemon except for one exception, it would be an eeveelution.

I would not count sylveon as indication of new sets in the slightest. Honestly I'm surprised there weren't new eeveelutions added every gen.

Given, I would not be surprised if they add a few for X and Y, but I doubt Sylveon's release as an increase to the chances.

Edit: Doubly so since Sylveon was intended as the showcasing of the new type through building all the speculation/hype of what it's type was originally. Such speculation and hype would not have been built with *any* other pokemon.

Can we talk about how gamefreak is teasing my goddamn cock?

Another source had Gamefreak calling this "the announcement of the century." Either Pokemon are real or they're overselling this

There's a pretty solid chance that that particular teaser has nothing to do with pokemon to begin with. So I'm not making any major calls on it one way or the other.
