Our GM cancelled this game at this point, citing burnout. Campaign bad end. :-( I guess that is memorable? (hopefully he picks it back up after I run something for a while) |

If I had read this tomorrow morning instead of tonight, my day would have been ruined. Fortunately, it's late enough at night so that it doesn't have a significant impact on my mood, but...dang. |

Dang man, that kinda sucks, but what are you gonna do? TR game I'm in has had a few moments of awesome. There was when we accidentally wandered into CopyCat's trap house (Our Heartbreaker wanted to fluff for getting a disguise kit). After (IC) swearing we saw several of our allies and mons killed (My Psychic flipped when she saw her Rufflet stabbed to death) and the PC's all gave up (the win condition for the game was to give up), we're taken to a feast where Copycat and some of her friends (and everyone we thought died) explain it was all a game for them (odd looks were given). The eventual result was the Heartbreaker getting his kit, a TL for the ordeal, awesome gifts (Copycat was filthy rich and didn't see much use for money) and the Psychic hooking up (still waiting for that to fall apart). There was when the same Heartbreaker earlier tried to impress a different Psychic by taking the Saffron Gym's test to try and become a member (which tested Psychic abilities, which he lacked). He did well (some guy took pity on him and helped with the Telekinesis tests) until he had to fight an Arbok. He tried to tell them that Sabrina would probably frown on tormenting new recruits like that. He rolls CHA to make them have the Arbok let go. Natural 20. Sabrina herself taunts him and tells him that she finds him nearly being strangled to death hilarious, but lets him go out of pity and curiosity. There was the first mon death where my Psychic's Rufflet killed one of the other PC's Pidgey in a battle to help advertise for a mart. Some nasty things got said, and a riot quickly broke out in the crowd. Most of the team fled, Paychic was knocked out with some gas for subduing crowds and winds up in the hospital and ends up banned from the fighter side of Saffron. There was where our first mission was almost done. Just had to meet a kid to pick up a mon from him. Turns out the kid was held hostage by two fighters who were sent after the HB for screwing around with the wrong man's daughters. He gives himself up since a fight would no doubt end in a TPK. They carve him up and break his legs, so he winds up in the ICU for three days. Probably a few more things. Current events are not complete, so I'm not sharing until they are. |

I play the Heart Breaker in the same Team Rocket game, and he's currently going through a crisis of faith which the GM is handling amazingly maturely and seriously, despite him usually being the comic relief of the group. In another game, my trainee Dragon Master is invited to a press conference concerning if the league should disband. Despite being invited by the rebels, she ends up flirting with another PC, a member of the League. During the conference, Cynthia reveals she has ties with the rebel leader, and they were working behind the League's back to try and secure peace. Bruno, taking offence to this, challenges her for her World Champion title and command of the League. The entire press conference goes silent. Both Rebels and Leaguers alike wait to see if Cynthia will accept. Then, my character, on the rebels side, calls out a bet stating Bruno had no chance against Cynthia. The bet was taken up by the Leaguer she was flirting with earlier. Her breaking the silence means Cynthia accepts the challenge, only to just barely lose. Bruno declares war on the Rebels, and soon a riot breaks out between the two sides. My character disappears before she can pay her side of the bet, but leaves winking at the guy. So basically, war was spurred on by my character wanting to flirt and make a quick buck. |

in a game called Dusk Island my cap spec wanted to join the local dark gym to do so he had to battle an equally leveled gym trainer (a psychic) he won the match but accidentally killed the trainers mon in the process. the psychic retaliated with extra sensory and the GM accidentally rolled high enough to OHKO me. to top it all off in the ensuing scramble to subdue the psychic and save my life my phanpy with pickup looted a dusk stone off the dead mons corpse when no one was looking. when he came to he was told that technically he won and was part of the gym now, but since he killed a mon he would have to catch his own dark type to be let back in the gym building its self. so he proved himself by not only catching a sneasel but he caught it with a lucky throw with out a fight. every thing after that is kinda spoilers for those who like to read pbp games. lets see what else... in a game called Apokelypse my skyrim inspired botanist was trying to catch a rotom with an Axew and basicballs. half a dual chop was the only effective move he had that wouldn't faint it out right so it devolved into spamming balls while his mon played meat shield. after breaking 6 balls and fainting his axew he ranted off an epic line and rolled lucky. the timing was perfect definitely worth 6 balls. and... in a game called rebirth of legends my engineer decided to sit out of the first encounter cause of a forum glitch that made me accidentally delete a bad capture roll(put my self on time out basically) so he decided to just look at the radar where he found a pair of frolicking nidorans oblivious to the battle waged close by. so he snuck up, sweet talked them, and caught both with out a fight starting my character on a path to be a big softy. the next encounter was a gym battle where he realized he would either lose or have a lethal X4 type advantage so he forfeited his first turn cause he didn't want to risk killing the leaders mon and the gym leader gave him a togepi. So, we had a bit of a Noodle Incident with the Vermillion City Gym. Three battles with Major Surge happened, but there were a total of four Major Surges involved, as our Snagger (Lance) and our Shaman (Raina) both battled against a Major Surge each in a double-battle scenario. So, here's my recap of how things went, battles numbered based off of chronological order. Surge's team was Raichu, Manectric, Magnezone, Electrode and Galvantula. I will be giving species names for imagery's sake. Battle 1 - My team was my Jolteon, my Wooper, my Numel, my Servine, my Golbat and my Machoke. Ended up with just my Servine and my Golbat left, and Golbat watched and laughed as the Galvantula derp'd itself to death due to confusion. Servine never saw combat. Numel and Wooper tanked through two of them, the Electrode went BOOM and the Jolteon took out the Raichu and the Manectric with alternating Shadow Ball and Signal Beam. The Galvantula derp'd in more than one way, as it used Pin Missile on the Golbat. >_> Battle 2 - Our Ace Trainer, Red, challenged Surge with Kadabra, Charmeleon, Machoke, Aron, Dratini and Pikachu (a time-shifted Pikachu from a bad future). He won, but barely. I think he was just down to his Dratini in the end. I lost track because of pie. Battle 3 - Raina and Lance took on the Two Surges. Raina went through most of her team while Lance just sat out there with his Sandslash KOing things (I almost typed murder, but we try not to kill if avoidable). I'm pretty sure they won, but I wasn't there for the end of it because I had a curfew to go through. The Two Surges bit was a bit of GM laziness and I was told to avoid speaking of it. |

This is an out-of-session frightening moment that I must share. So, I started running up my numbers on my Capture Specialist today, and I used my list from my signature for figuring out my Checklist value. Now, bear in mind, I have Capture Point Max and All Of Them as abilities. My DEX is 22, and my INT is 20, so both Capture Point Max and All Of Them are up to 11 each, bringing my catch rate to 22. I looked through my Checklist. 25. That's the magic number for an extra -10. I have almost a 1 in 3 chance of a negative capture roll now without Prophetic Catch. If it's the right type, it's almost a 2 in 5. My thoughts: I COULD CATCH GOD!!! IN A HEAL BALL!!! |

I remember one time my party was fighting in a team battle, and one of the enemies, a LV50 Bronzong, got confused off a Gengar's Confuse Ray, and proceeded to hurt itself for 5 turns in a row with some rather amusing remarks. "Bronzong, Extrasensory." "You said hit myself in the face, boss? Okay, Bronzong, it's your time to shine!" Then he kept imagining that Beedrills were attacking him, among other things. It lost about 100 HP off that (20 * 5), and given it having no weaknesses whatsoever and insane defenses, it really helped. Elsewhere on the field, there was a Sableye rolling AC 3 for all of its attacks...and they all missed their target due to evasion. This caused my character's Magnezone, who was on the sidelines, to scream "Hey, Sableye! You SUCK!!" ...I guess it isn't that memorable, compared to other moments, but I found it amusing.
"COME AT ME BRO" "AAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHEHGAHFEHFSLKEGFJSG" *falls flat on its face* |
